Addison Fitzpatrick is at a turning point in her life. The demons she thought she’d defeated are back and stronger than ever. Her past issues with drugs threaten to overwhelm her. And that isn’t even the worst of her problems.
Addison was forced to kill the only family she had left and moments afterward was rejected by a man she cared about. Now, she’s called in to not only repay yet another favor for Cannon Blackwood, but for Evie the witch, and just about every one of her friends. These favors come at a cost; they force her to confront and employ the help of the one person she’d rather not see, Lachlan O’Brian.
Cannon requires Addison to retrieve something of his from Merriam, a powerful master vampire. Easier said than done. Addison might be a pusher with super-human abilities, but that won’t be enough. She will have to risk everything, all while battling herself, an ancient evil, a stalker, and two brothers who are feuding for her affections. No one ever said repaying favors to a vampire would be easy and Addison's life is living proof.
This proved a frustrating read for me. I was hoping Addison was moving beyond her leap first, think later way of life but she hasn't. We 're still stuck in the awkward romance triangle (FYI I seriously dislike these because they amount to plot devices and not actual plot)--we need to move past this brother thing. Spoiler alert: she jumps into bed with Lachlan after more than one person asked her not to. Selfish much? Makes you wonder what anyone sees in her when all she does is think about herself and screw the consequences.
This failure of her' s defined the plot of the whole book, so I am hoping to see change in book 4 since she bamboo her issues. I am also hoping we get past the incessant woe is me whining because at this point I am just rolling my eyes at it. Someone has to give this chick some tough love, and it looks like Theo is starting on that path. I hope it sticks because of book 4 is like this, I am giving up on the series. Character growth is needed desperately.
My girl Emily has done it again...I've waited a long time for this next book is this exciting Vampire series. With three more books left after this one, the excitement just keeps piling up.
Heroine Addison Fitzpatrick is once again called upon by the hot sexy vampire Cannon Blackwood to do another "favor" for him. This favor involves finding a box. How difficult could that be? Now being indebted to Cannon meant doing these "things" for him in my opinion was more like "mission impossible". These Vampire Favors are down right dangerous. Along with retrieving said box, our girl also needs to bring back a book for the bat shit crazy witch Evie. Between having cravings for drugs again, being stalked by a secret admirer the is sending her tons of gifts at every turn and her feelings for the two sexy as hell vampire brothers, Cannon and Lachlan....poor Addison has her plate full. Now she has this latest favor to do.
I found this book to be even more amazing than the last. Can't wait for the fourth book to come out...Sink or Swim!!
Since I first read Push and Pull, I have almost completely quit reading fantasy and urban fantasy but I couldn't stay away from the Vampire Favors series. This one will probably pull me back as long is Emily Cyr keeps writing it. Fight or Flight is as excellent as the first two books in the series. Character driven, it still has the action that the genre seems to demand and that action is the pulse pounding, heart in the throat quality that the earlier books included. Speaking of characters, the ones left standing at the beginning of FoF are outstanding, the heart broken, big-hearted Addison, the frustrating but oh, so delicious Cannon and Lachlan, the crazy but all knowing Evie, sweet little Erica, the ever supportive Theo, Brent and Cahill. Each character brings his or her own particular magic to this series. Ms. Cyr had produced another winner and I loved it.
I am so glad the author has come back to this series! It is amazing. Addison is a Pusher... she can push energy to make her go faster, to heal (she's just barely started using this part of her talent), to make others say things that they usually wouldn't say out loud. To say she is a "character" is not the right description, she's amazingly sturdy, she's snarky as all get out, she has deep needs, and she's an addict. Everything in her life has pushed her to that and she's fought it, and fought it. The two fighting vampires in her life make it worse, and all of the incidents surrounding her aren't making it easier either. There are so many good parts in this series I can't just claim one as a favorite, and I can't wait for the next, Sink or Swim.
Love this series and was so pleased to see that book#3 was ready to download. The beginning was a little slow, but the story really took off when Lachlan and Cannon arrived on the scene at about the 20% mark. Love their characters and the fact they are not necessarily "good" men/vampires. She is addicted to both of them and I really thought I knew who she should pick, but now I am not so sure. Can't wait for book #4.
I am completely addicted to this series, and it kills me every time it ends and I have to wait for the next book. I love them all, so much. Addison never disappoints with her shit show life, and Emily never disappoints with her story telling. Cannot wait until the next book!
I loved this series.. There is something about Addison that I just adore. She snarky, fragile, caring and powerful with a very interesting love triangle. Please hurry with the 4th book.
I love the Addison character. I like her attitude and the book has the right amount of humor. I'm very curious who she decides to pick and who the creepy stalker guy is.
I love the Vampire Favors series. Each book is even more exciting than the last. Fight or Flight is the 3rd book in the series and I just keeps getting better and better as Cyr grows as an author. Not that her writing wasn’t spot on from the first book, but most of us continue to grow if we keep doing something for a while and this author is no different in that aspect.
Addison is still a super hot mess, but she seems to at least be trying to get it together. I love her sense of humor. I do wish she would find a way out of the whole love triangle because the whole, “which one is she going to sleep with this time” thing is starting to be a bit repetitive and frustrating. Hopefully, she will find a resolution to that soon and get herself sorted out. She still isn’t as much of a mess as Evie, but who really could be. I love Evie to death, but she sort of makes my head hurt so I can only imagine what she does to the people in her life.
I still want to punch Cannon and I'm done being nice to Lochlan. He's a jerk. They both need to get over themselves and quit listening to their little heads instead of their big heads. Cannon has the personality of someone who didn’t get enough love from his mommy growing up, so he treats other people like crap.
Overall, great book, great addition to the series. Fight or Flight keeps you guessing as to what Addison will do next and there is plenty of action to keep your attention.
Favors, Favors everywhere. I guess that's why it's the Vampire Favors series, huh? *wink* So, it looks like Addison still struggles with her addiction. And, she was doing so well in the last book. I thought it was all behind her. I really love her character though. Her personality is so much fun. All the characters are back, and they all bring something to story. Sometimes I wanted to kick them. Sometimes I wanted to kiss them. We can always depend on this series to have action too, and there is lots going on! Speaking of which, Cannon or Lachlan? Lachlan or Cannon? I really like both of these guys! Cannon with his bad boy appeal, and Lachan with his broody ways. I just can't get enough of this series.
Fight or Flight by Emily Cyr was kindly provided to me by Lady Amber's Reviews & PR for review. The opinions are my own
SO F*cking worth the wait and then some. Geez I don't know whether to hug or shake Addison.. which I'm sure how everyone around her feels the same way. Honestly though with no real definitive answer to what anyone "Cannon" truly wants from her how can she not f up. Throw in a whole lot of impending end of the world type evil and you have yourself a party...I know makes no sense till you read the book lol.

Fight or Flight will bring you tears, smiles, get your heart pumping and getting you begging for more. This Vampire series has twists and turns and will keep you on your toes. I could not put the book down! The flow will keep you reading until the end and begging for the next release date! Addison is an addict who is addicted to a vampires bite! You will not be disappointed!
