Matsuri Hino was born on January 24 in Hokkaido. She was a bookshop keeper who one day decided to become a manga artist, and all of nine months later, in 1995, she published her first manga title, Kono Yume ga Sametara (When This Dream Is Over), in Japan's LaLa DX magazine.
Number 7! I'm well on my way to finishing these books.
This book went much faster than the last one. The drama is amped up and we will eventually find out Yuki's past. Kaname is getting closer to Yuki as well... Zero was not as involved as I wanted during this volume.
Don’t ever forget for whom this blood was offered.
OMG!! I can't believe what happened actually happened!! Wow! I knew it was coming... but then again I really didn’t they’d… but then I saw with my own eyes that they... OMG! Wow! Vampire Knight 7 is definitely not the manga to miss! This book took the story to a whole new level. Loved it!
In this installment Yuki faced Kaname and demands the truth about her past. Words are shared, sacrifices are made and actions are taken that change the game and the rules everyone is playing by.
Great installment to an awesome mange series. Five stars without a doubt! I’m starting VK8 right now!
Omg, endlich mal wieder weitergelesen.
Yeah. Volume 7 kicked so much ass. It's kind of shocking that three main characters, a slew of background and secondary characters, and just vampires in a school is a cliche mixture of stuff. You'd think shiznit would get boring, but nope! 7 brings along some more ARE YOU FREAKIN' SERIOUS?! plot-shocks, and some pretty fun playtime with Kaname and Yuki. I mean just LOOK at that!
I still ship Zero and Yuki harder than anything, but damn. I am not unaffected! These two definitely have serious angst when on panel together, and me like! Though, as much as I adore their lovey-huggy selves, umm...Can I just...can we just fangirl over THIS PANEL ART THAT HAPPENS THAT I HAVE TO MAKE A CLICKABLE HIDEAWAY BECAUSE SPOILERS BUT OH MY GOD AHHHHHHHHHH!
Screw you, that's hot. And I can't stop staring! If for no other reason (and JESUS there's other reasons like ) than that single panel above, THAT is why Volume 7 is my favorite and kicks all of the ass.
"Be my... lover." Bwahahaha. When Kaname said that to Yuki, I almost fell out of my chair, I was laughing so hard. It's so wrong, in so many ways. But, it's things like that that make me enjoy this series. (Although I do find it interesting that in the anime, Yuki does not invite Zero along to this meeting with Kaname -- In the manga version, it's hard to tell if Yuki was being oblivious or really cruel.)
Other notes: in scenes like the one where Zero pulls a gun on Kaname, the artwork just cries out for slashy fanfic.
Well, we'll see, I guess. This series is so all over the place, it could really go anywhere. (Yes, I know I could read spoilers online, but where's the fun in that?)
Yuki doesn't remember anything about her past except the ones she has with Kaname, the vampire who saved her from a blood-thirsty vampire ten years ago, and she suspects Kaname may have had something to do with it. She confronts him for it and promises to never stop doing so until the truth comes out, at whatever cost.
I am reading the manga and watching the anime series simultaneously, and both are quite addicting. Glad my sister, who's a big fan of mangas and animes, has lent her books to me. I actually didn't plan on reading this series sooner, but my phone recently crashed and as I’m not keen on reading e-books on the computer at the moment (as most in my TBR list are e-books), I'm back to reading paperback for now.
Could this volume end at a worse cliff-hanger? No, didn't think so.
While I love this story, it tends to stall at times. There will be pages of beautiful artwork where not a whole lot happens. The characters have so much more potential than they're given. That's not to say I don't enjoy this series: I do. The intrigue is what keeps me as interested as I am, but the reread value probably isn't as high as other series I follow.
In this volume: love Zero, scared of Kaname (but love him, too, of course), and worried for Yuki. Next volume should hold some answers. Hopefully. Maybe. If we don't get 200 of pages of stalling again.
Reread. There are so many secondary characters, and they all have motivations they're keeping secret, and their revelations don't have any impact because so few of them have any personality. There's a lot going on, but since most of it exists only to melodramatically twist the knife into Zero or Yuki, or both, the details escape me not long after I read any given volume. This reread added to a general feeling of incoherence. Maybe others see depths that I'm completely missing.
Anyhow, after a couple of false starts over the years, I feel like I've given this series a good chance. Nice art was only able to carry this nonsense so far. I'll get to the halfway point before deciding for sure, even if I have to drag myself there, mumbling irritatedly the whole way. Only one or two volumes to go... urgh...
I'm going to be honest, at this point of the series everything is blending together and I'm having trouble recalling events specific to the volume. So in general, Ichigo has joined the Day Class and is clearly hunting a target, Shiki is possessed by his father and is hell bent on taking down Kaname and regaining title as head of the Kuran household. Yuki was asked to be Kaname's "lover" and agrees, reluctantly. He assures her it's only to protect her and he's the best one for the job... so he also has the Night Class stalk her during the day just to be safe. And that's everything I can recall! I know Yuki asked Kaname about her past, having figured out he's the one who hid or erased her memories of that bloody, snowy night but he refuses. Which is why she agreed to be his "lover" because that was the only way he'd tell her and then he doesn't. It's a bit sad to see Yuki manipulated by both guys in her life but I'm still enjoying the story overall. Oh yeah, duh. The big thing was Zero drank Kaname's blood to delay his falling to Level E...so now he hates Kaname even more.
Opens with one Hell of a chapter! Zero drinking Kaname's blood. (Great illustrations on their fight scene.) How will this affect the story? Was this Kaname's plan all along? Will Zero be bonded to him now?
Ends with Kaname drinking Yuki's blood to save her from her nightmares. Plus the appearance of Rido... Who seems quite scary and very powerful.
Is this confrontation what Kaname has been plotting against all along? Has it all been about protecting Yuki or something more? I can't wait to find out
Things became a bit less sweet as Kaname evaded Yuki's questions and teased her about it. The Aristocratic vampires, including Aido (who I love), were revealed to be major A-holes (Ruka was always one), so that I wonder why they attend a pacifist school. The artwork is still great, as usual.
Nice to see Yuki, Kaname, Zero, and the other characters again. Wonder what will happen to Yuki now that she is Kaname's lover. Still wondering about who her parents are.
THIS WAS THE BEST VOLUME YET OMFG!!!! HOLY MOLY KANAME IS AHHHHH!!!!! AND WHAT HE SAID, DID OMGG IM LOSING MY MIND THIS STORY IS SO FUN. RECOMMEND, RECOMMEND 100%!!!!!!
My library finally got these since I refuse to pay more something this poorly plotted and it doesn’t get much better here. There are so many characters that look so much alike and none have distinctive enough personalities for you to pick out who’s who.
We’re back to school. Half of #6’s heavy plot points brushed aside and left under explored as a) Zero begins his descent to the animal-level of his condition but is saved from the madness and death by Kaname (about the only interesting thing in this volume) b)Yuki wants Kaname to tell her what happened that night in the snow, thinking he is responsible for her memory loss but lacks the will/strength to ask him, big surprise c) Zero’s twin Ichiru shows up with a cruel tongue for both Zero and Yuki but where he fits into the muddy attempt at Machiavellian plotting, I’m not yet sure.
Yuki then does something that sinks her even lower in my estimation. She makes Zero go with her to talk to Kaname. She knows how he feels about her and yet feels too weak to go talk to Kaname alone and makes Zero sit there and listen to them talk about their love. This is the cruelest thing anyone’s done in this series to date. I don’t get why Zero cares for her or Kaname for that matter but eh, it’s shojo and I guess someone has to. My plan is to read through the next two volumes that the library has since I have them here then just forget about this series.
