Christine Rimmer's " A Maverick to ( Re) Marry" was a delightful second chance romance. The book is part of the Montana Mavericks series. It features Derek Dalton and Amy Wainwright.
This couple have a past together and secret no one knows. They were High School Sweethearts who were secretly married and separated because of a miscommunication on both sides which led to their divorce.
So here they are thirteen years later, trying to help two of their best friends tie the knot. Derek and Amy recogn

Derek and Amy are so adorable together!! They are high school sweethearts with a big secret, but in a little town secrets have a way of getting out. They haven’t seen each other in a very long time and Amy is back for a friends wedding. Sparks fly when they see each other again, These two are perfect for each other. They know they’re not fooling anyone with their “friends only” routine. Marriage is definitely going to be better the second time around for Derek and Amy. This was a great start to ...more
I have said that enemies to lovers is a favorite romance trope, but another favorite is a good second chance romance and this book was defiantly a fantastic second chance romance.

Derek and Amy were high school sweethearts who married (secretly) for about five days until her father found them and told her she needed to break it off. They were too young, it was all too quick, Amy needed to go to college. There were several reasons why the marriage at that time was not a good idea. Deep down inside

Received a copy from NetGelley for honest review.

I absolutely hate to give negative reviews but if I have to be honest, I struggled to finish this book because I was totally bored. It has the same theme that we have read countless of times of boy & girl fall in love & pregnant. Decide to get married -only to break up soon afterwards because of something or other (in this case, "someone"), Hero becomes a manho and they don't see each other again for 10 or more years (13 in this case).

Very good story of second chances. Back in high school Amy and Derek had been a couple, then secretly married that summer. The marriage ended as quickly as it began, leaving both of them heartbroken before they moved on with their lives. Neither has forgotten the other, though each has coped in different ways. Derek has become something of a flirt, avoiding any hint of commitment. Amy threw herself into school, then her job in Colorado, and has avoided returning to Rust Creek Falls. Now her best ...more

A Maverick to (Re)Marry is one book that most Christine Rimmer fans will really enjoy. Her use of imagery and figurative language are enchanting, and the words simply flow off the page. In short, readers of A Maverick to (Re)Marry will find themselves in familiar territory, but it’s still territory with a fresh breeze blowing through it. Once in Rush Creek Falls Montana, Amy Wainwright once again encounters flirty cowboy Derek Dolton will their secret past be reveled.

It's been quite some time since I've read a novel by Christine Rimmer, whose work I always enjoyed in the past. I usually love a second chance at love romance trope, but I'm sorry to say that this novel and it's lead characters simply didn't resonate with me, and, for a number of reasons, which I'll elucidate, it was, at best, a 3-star read.

First, there's the title, there was absolutely nothing "maverick" about the hero, Derek. He wasn't a bad boy, he was an artisan who made beautiful, custom s

A story of second chances. In high school Amy and Derek were a couple, then they secretly married that summer. The marriage didn’t work out and ended quickly, leaving both of them with broken hearts until they move on with their lives. If you had a heartbreaking high school romance, you are going to love A Maverick to Re Marry by Christine Rimmer. Amy Wainwright has returned home to Rust Creek Falls to plan her best friend's wedding and comes face to face with her high school love, cowboy Derek Dalton.

A Maverick to (Re) Marry is Christine Rimmer’s contribution to Harlequin Special Edition’s series: Montana Mavericks - The Lonelyhearts Ranch. I absolutely love second chance romances and this was the perfect story! Derek Dalton and Amy Wainwright were high school sweethearts. They haven’t seen one another in thirteen years after their secret wedding ended in divorce.

Both Amy and Derek are involved in their best friends’ wedding and must plan their bachelor/bachelorette party. This is the perfe

Derek and Amy were once secretly married then went their seperate ways and no one even knew about it. Amy is back in town for a friends wedding and Derek apart of the wedding which means they will be working together helping out where they can. Thing is that attraction they once had didn't seem to go away and old feelings are back.

This book is pretty much what I expected it to be a sweet second chance at love contemporary romance book. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline was interesting

This is such a sweet story. Derek Dalton and Amy Wainwright married as young sweethearts. Their marriage was short due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
Amy left Rust Creek Falls to attend college in Colorado. Derek stayed in town and worked on his reputation as a lady’s man.
Amy is back in Rust Creek Falls to be the maid of honor at her friend Eva’s wedding after 13 years away. Derek is asked to be the best man for his friend Luke, who is marrying Eva.
Let the games begin!

Really loved this! Derek is the epitome of a delicious cowboy... works on a ranch, owns half a saddelry... Amy is smart n sassy. She comes back to Rust Creek for her best friends wedding knowing she will see him again. Even after being gone for 13 years she wants to keep their past a secret. After finding out the details of what happened so long ago I would love to smack her dad! No spoilers here...the sparks set these two on fire once again. "A Maverick to (Re) Marry (Montana Mavericks: The Lonely Hearts Ranch" by Christine Rimmer is part of a series but it can also be a read alone. I highly recommend the series. This is Derek and Amy's story. It begins back when they were both young, and just out of high school. Young love, turned into a quick marriage when Amy found out she was pregnant. However, the pregnancy didn't last, they split up and divorced. Fast forward a few years and they're thrown together again. This time Derek is th ...more

A good look at how teenage first love can mature even if the couple is not together. We first meet Amy and Derek as they are meeting after being apart for years. As Maid of Honor and Best Man they are forced to spend time with each other. Christine Rimmer uses this time to knit their love for each other in a life-long commitment theu could not have sustained as teenagers. Second chance stories with love and forgiveness are some of my favorites and Christine Rimmer has done this one up into a lov ...more

A Maverick to (Re) Marry by Christine Rimmer.
Amy Wainwright and Derek Dalton meet again while helping to plan a wedding for her best friend, she is Maid of Honor and he is Best Man and they have to deal with the feelings that they feel from their short secret marriage as teenagers. They spend time together and fall back in love. I enjoyed the way they worked together to make sure their friends had a wonderful wedding. It is another wonderful Rust Creek Falls book. I recommend this book to anyone

This book was a thoughtful reunion of a couple who had a shotgun wedding 13 years ago. Derek and Amy were in love 13 years ago until their circumstances changed and they parted ways to pursue their own dreams and to allow each other to move toward success. Now suddenly they are thrown together as best man and maid of honor at their best friends’ wedding. Can they plan a co-ed bachelorette party and keep their distance? If they give in to temptation, will it last or be short lived? This was a gre ...more

Christine Rimmer's Harlequin book, A Maverick to (Re)Marry is a second chance romance. Derek Dalton and Amy Wainwright were young high school sweethearts when they got married and divorced. As usual Christine Rimmer has written another awesome book. I am learning that when I pick up a book of hers, that I need to make sure my schedule is clear for a day or two so that I can just sit down and read it. It kills me to have to go about my daily activities knowing that it is waiting on me.

I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did. I would recommend it, if you like a great romance.

I couldn't put it down!! This book was so compelling from the first paragraph. Amy tries to deny she ever had any chemistry with Derek but from the first time they're in the same room AGAIN, neither of them can deny it's still there. The perfect mis-matched couple who got the short end of the stick back in high school get a chance to have their happily ever after. RUN don't walk to pick up this AWESOME story!!

I love it when someone finds a way to match make. Throw them together and give them no choice. Eva and Luke just cracked me up putting Dalton and Amy back together without knowing they were together before. As a person that has been in love before and lost, I really loved this story. I was surprised that moonshine was not involved in Rust Creek this time. (Yes I have read all the others in this series). Highly recommend this book.

I love this story! Derek and Amy were high school sweethearts and found a very rare true love at a young age. Unfortunately the timing just wasn't quite right for these two young lovers. Flash forward 13 years and Derek and Amy are thrown together to plan a dual bachelor/bachelorette party for their close friends. These two are destined to be together but doubts arise and they have to work through the past to get the future they want and deserve together.

Have you've ever been in love in high school and thought it was forever love but your plans got in the way of it, or a family member thought they were doing something for your best, well Amy and Derek thought this. Christine brings me back to the time when I thought all was great in the world and then real life kicks in. Take this trip with Amy and Derek and see if their lives right themselves. Love this book.

I love second chances. We all do not get it right the first time so second chances are great. Derek and Amy were high school sweethearts. Life and challenges to big for them caused a separation and with a second chance they got to make it right. It was not easy but they did it and work and love win out. Great read by Christine Rimmer.

Christine Rimmer does it again in A Maverick to (Re)Marry with a pair of star crossed lovers who meet after 13 years. He broke her heart and his own in trying to do the right thing. Now that they will be best man and maid of honor, they'll have to behave. This is the story of a lost love and accountability, with hope for the future. A great read.

I am a sucker for romance! The emotions Christine can illustrate pull you in. You feel their pain, heartache, passion and needs.
Derek and Amy are forced to work together on wedding plans as their friends had carefully devised. The past has yet to be resolved. What does the future hold and can they dork together civilly? Now my hubby has some higher standards to live up to! Lol
