Box Inspector and other Important Jobs for Cats
by Lisa Swerling, Ralph Lazar

I wonder how anyone who meets me knows that I love cats. It's such a mystery to me. Is it all the cat hair on my clothes or all the cat pictures? Is it because you can't walk through our house without at least one toy under each step you take? Or is it all the empty cardboard boxes? This little book speaks to me in every way.

Thanks to my friend, Susan, for bringing it to my attention. At this very moment, our house has five cardboard boxes that may hang around for eternity since our cats love boxes. And we have a big cat condo with doors that shut so that we can put our cats in it and eat our meals in peace while they nap. They come running any time they hear us open the microwave oven. We avoid using our stove top because we don't want to chance our cats burning their feet. This place is ruled by cats.

I took the test and I'm definitely a crazy cat parent (although there was never any doubt about that fact). The pictures in this book are so cute and not so fancy that I can pretend I might be able to draw pictures like them (I can't though). This is my kind of coffee table book, nothing pretentious and very much making a statement about my life with cats.

This is a Kindle Unlimited Selection

Help Wanted (or Not).

If you need a smile or a quick pick up and you love cats, this is purrfect. Simple but comical illustrations and quips about feline behavior. Anyone owned by a cat will no doubt relate to many of the scenarios.

Received this through Amazon Kindle Unlimited.

Very cute! After reading the section, "Signs that You're a Crazy Cat Parent", I figured out two things: (1) why, yes I am, and (2) cats play us like a tune.

I read two books by this author. This one had some laughs in it and cute things. My favorite was the other book I read by her. It was so ‘ on-the-spot’ with things my cats do and it really made me laugh. I will read more by this author.

About a 3.5 for cuteness and cleverness. This was a gift and the giver made a good choice. The premise is using cat behavior to come up with "jobs." My favorite is a cat lying on a book with the notation "librarian." Well executed, good idea.

Ever wondered what cats actually do? Or maybe you're thinking your cat might be an alien? This is the book for you! Very cute and realistic illustrations. I kept showing the pages to my own cat, saying "it's you!"

Box Inspector and Other Important Jobs is a collection of various cat comics thrown into one book. Not only will readers find out how hardworking cats are but also whether you are a crazy cat parent and to be invited to review whether cats may be actual aliens as well.

Due to its comic format, the reading is mostly brief and simple while also not as creative as one could make the job titles for some cat career opportunities. Meanwhile once the comics finish there is at at least 7 pages of advertisements for other works from this author.

The illustration format isn't the best nor the worst I have seen. Unfortunately some pages were really faded and hard to see even though the text was still legible.

All in all an okay cat-based comic for readers who need a quick break from the often catless and packed day we find ourselves in.

Hilarious

It's super funny and pretty much on point as cats and their staff (humans) are really like. A nice quick read with plenty of laughs to share with the cat lover in your household.

Weak. I didn't even crack a smile.

There should be a word in English for a picture or phrase that is clearly designed to be funny, but isn't. Failed jokes seems to cumbersome. I feel like the Danes probably do have a word for that. We should steal it.

Collection of bland cat drawings. None funny. Examples of Cat Jobs include Morale Booster and Lap Warmer. Meh. There are much funnier and quirky cat books out there. Pusheen or Simon's Cat, for example.
