Wow, this was a roller coaster! Definitely a good end to this series - the story is quite unpredictable (which I like) and the characters and setting are all interesting. The characters especially are very well written; they develop in a good way throughout the series and also in this book. Also very glad to see many of my ships come true in the end!

Okay so I fell in love with this series a few months ago and I am really sad to see it come to an end, but I don't think there could have been a better way to tie up the series.This finale was filled with loss, intense action, betrayal, forgiveness, love, friendship and family bonds. It was definitely the edge of your seat read that had me flipping pages at lightning speed... well I wasn't actually flipping them but still.
This book definitely takes a different approach to fantasy and it's really different from your typical fantasy novels, which is my main reason for liking this book so much. Riya's world is magical and Kelly Walker does an amazing job describing it.And I mentioned this for the previous books but I'll say it again... few authors can pull off the whole third point person of view without making it awkward for the reader. Luckily Kelly Walker is one of the few.
While I liked Riya in the previous books, I LOVED her her. She became so much more reasonable, selfless, mature and intelligent. She forgave the people who deserved it and she became a better person. She made such hard choices but she was never really selfish making them. Riya came a long way since the first book.
Torian oh Torian, he was perfect as always. He was still the gentleman but there was playfulness to him as well as the whole alpha vibe. Just like Riya he developed a lot as a character and he was in every way her match. They are perfect for each other.
The plot as I said before is involved and intense and every moment of it is amazing.

Best Book Ever
Guys, this book was the best of them all! It made you feel WAAAAY more than the other two and the ending and everything was perfect. There may be a part when you're heart breaks so much you want to stop reading, don't do it, keep going cause everything is awesome with this book and it rocked.

It was different I would have love for them to still her the spirits and that Email could have connected with her brother. The Three should have allowed that to exist even thought they reunited the 3 stones.

I fell in love with Cornerstone and these characters a few short months ago, and hanging with Emariya and Torain has been nothing but a blast. Each book takes the reader on an epic adventure. Broken Stone is my favorite out of the series. I loved every single minute I spent reading it.
Emariya's journey has been nothing but ups and downs since we first met her. She is such a strong character, she face adversity head on. Even when she thinks all is lost she still continues to go on. I love that!
Kelly is able to weave an epic fantasy tale that lures me in and keeps me hooked. She did it not just with one but three books. Honestly, if she wanted to keep going and tell the rest of Riya's and Torain's tale I wouldn't say no to reading it. Oh, and can I have a book about Torin too, while your at it Kelly? :D I'm kidding.
The back drop of the book is epic, each land that Riya visits is beautifully detailed but doesn't bore the reader. Kelly doesn't tell us about how many threads the rug has, she instead shows us how beautiful the rug is and moves on!
The action sequences are to die for, so riveting I was literally holding my breath throughout the book.
Torain is back! In the second book it almost felt like he had lost a little bit of his edge, but the darkly beautiful prince that I fell in love with was here. Writing an alpha type male meant for younger audiences can be hard, well at least for authors that try to do it responsibly, and Kelly definitely does that. He's in charge, but he also knows how to choose his battles and listen. He's an equal to Riya and that truly shows in this book.
The ending was truly satisfying in that it felt complete. Does that mean that I won't wish, and hope for more. Obviously I do, but I am ok with the way things ended.
Broken Stone, and the Soul of Stones trilogy are books that will stay with me for a while. Thank you Kelly for the chance to read and review these works.

This is the third book in the ‘Souls of the Stones’ series, and kicks off where book 2 ‘Second Stone’ left off.
**Warning – some unavoidable spoilers for books 1 and 2 ‘Cornerstone’, and ‘Second Stone’.**
Now that Emariya and Torian have bound the lines, it’s up to them to rescue Torian’s sister Terin, who has been kidnapped by Emariya’s brother Reeve.
How can Emariya and Torian stand against Reeve though when no-one believes that her father renounced him, and named Emariya as his heir? How can they get Terin away from Reeve when the stones continue to pull her to him? And will the prophecy about the three stones prove true?
This was another great book, and a great ending to this fantasy trilogy.
Emariya continued to be strong in this book, and she proved time and time again how much she loved Torian, and how hard she was prepared to fight for what was right. Torian and Emariya’s friends proved their loyalty to her, and it was nice to see such a strong female lead.
I liked the storyline in this final book, although there was more to the story than I expected there to be, with Emariya and Torian having to make yet another journey, and being tested once more.
The author kept the suspense of what would happen all the way through this book, with things not being wrapped up once and for all until the very end of the book. I didn’t expect the end to come quite the way it did, but everything worked out for the best, and you can’t beat a happy ending!
Overall; this book really was a fitting end to a wonderful series, and I will definitely be reading whatever the author writes next!

Wow. What an amazing conclusion!!
I got introduced to the "Souls of Stones" series after the second book was released and became an instant fan. I was a bit skeptical on whether "Broken Stone" would meet up to standards and expectations BUT THANKFULLY Kelly Walker delivered!!
The plot, the pacing, and characters were great!
Emariya was definitely one of the better heroine's that I've read in young adult reads. She is not whiny and annoying and takes what's given to her straight on. I absolutely loved her selflessness and strong characterization.
As for Torian, well, he's Torian so I adored him as well. Whenever he would enter a scene I would feel a 'sprinkle of sunshine' come into the story as he always made me giddy with happiness. I thought he was a loveable but admirable character as well as leader to his people.

Over all, I really enjoyed everything in "Broken Stone". Everything was absolutely wonderful. Emariya and Torian will go down as one of my favorite couples as they are such a solid team and were always so mature and level headed throughout the ENTIRE book series.

An absolutely magnificent conclusion to this series! Broken Stone was an epic read and a satisfying conclusion to one of my favorite series!
Everything was perfect in this book.
Emariya realized her full potential and became a formidable heroine. She was awesome, a truly wonderful character.
Torian was as sweet as ever and a strong leader to his people. He was a brilliant hero, a perfect match to Emariya.
The romance was wonderful. These two were so sweet together. And talk about a power couple! You would not want to go against these two. They were lovely together.
The plot had me riveted. There were thrills with the war in full swing, surprises as new truths were revealed, and an epic conclusion to the war. The ending was brilliant. I loved that the epilogue gave us a look to how Emariya and Torian fixed up their world.
Broken Stone was a perfect conclusion to this series! I loved it. Seriously, YA lovers, you have to read this series. Full of fantasy, magic, romance, thrills, and surprises, this series was epic!

I was a bit sad when this trilogy ended, which I read in its recently published Souls of the Stones Omnibus form. I was fully intrigued and invested in the lives of Emariya and Torian, along with their faithful and loyal friends.
Right from the start, I was launched into a plot filled with good pacing, quick action and political intrigue. The bad guys get what they deserve (although it would have been cool if those scenes were drawn out a little more); and the good guys prevail. A happy ending - my favorite.
I also appreciated the epilogue. I love epilogues and this one was especially good. It outlined where everyone was 15 years later. So, thank you Kelly Walker!
There is some mild swearing and very glossed-over married sex.

With Broken Stone, a good portion of this book is each character getting to know themselves, both their best pats and their darkest parts. Each character's loyalties and commitments are tested, and it's interesting to see how it all falls out. There were definitely a few surprises in here for me as well, which was great. Also a lot of exploration of their various powers, which I always enjoy when I'm reading fantasy.
A good ending to a good series; pretty much all questions were answered, though like any smart author, Walker left some open questions that could result in further books--which I hope it does! In fact, I've already searched out some more stories in this world to read.

Finally, the war. That is the kind of action I have been waiting for. Only it wasn’t as fantastic as I was hoping. Everything was fast and it ended before you knew it. Where is the action packed fighting and adventure? If there is a war then there should be a big drawn out war. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good book and a good series but it’s not the greatest. Everyone lives happily ever after and we all are happy with the ending, just not how it got there. I am a young adult author and reader but this book is more of a book for younger teens.

This book was an amazing conclusion to the souls of stones series!
If you were captivated by Riya and Torian's love in the previous books, you will not be let down in this book! A really great love story between the two of them that just gets better and better as you read.
Plus, you get an ending to all of the other characters as well including what happens to Terin and Riya's evil brother.
In all seriousness, this series is as good a read as The Hunger Games and other popular YA series. I could not put this book down and I love that this book is full of love and adventure.

This was a great read. Ms. Walker writes a fantastic YA series. I thought the books only got better and better. The heroine, Emariya, is tied to her soul mate, Torian and they face the future together. This book simply continued from the second book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot only got better as the series went on. This series was my first read for Ms. Walker, but it definitely won’t be my last.

I loved this Cornerstone Series. The books were great. The characters are lovable and caring. The setting is fascinating and the plot is enticing. Broken Stone had plenty of action and a perfect balance between good and evil, humor and severity, happiness and sorrow, romance and despising, and so much more. Broken Stone is a fitting conclusion for this awesome series. Well done Kelly Walker!

A brilliant conclusion to a great series, I was hooked on this book from the beginning, though I think this was down to the cliff-hanger at the end of the second book.
I loved the romance between Torian and Emariya, it felt so much stronger than the previous two books and made the characters more real to me this time. The plot was brilliant, I adored it! Amazing book.

Tween read. Nothing offensive. Lots of time spent blushing over steamy kisses, no cursing. Lots of angst and betrayal. Lots of matchy matchy insta love. The kind of book u would consider and epic romance if u were 12. It has its place, and isn't bad at what it does. Just don't expect something else going into it.

I really enjoyed this trilogy. They were fast-paced, and I never really felt like I was wasting time reading them. I'm excited for the next books, and would really like to have a sequel more focused on the children. But I still loved the series. A++!

3.5 stars. This was a great way to finish the tale. More emotionally invested, the heart strings pulled for the characters in Broken Stone more so than the first 2 books. A story of treachery, it ended in the power of forgiveness and love.

the storyline was interesting, but the heroine was such a mess. One minute she was trying to be strong and independent (and kind of rude & obnoxious), then the next she is a fainting, whining spoiled little girl who can't make a decision.

a good conclusion to the trilogy.!! much enjoyed story with the perfect amount of action and description and background. relatable characters, pretty realistic story for a fantasy makes it more enjoyable for me to read. easy read which is great.. part of is there were no errors I could pick up on.
