I have read and loved all of Ethan Canin's books. This was the first one that failed to catch my interest. The references to real political events were nicely woven into a fictional story. However, I just could not get that interested in the main character or the BIG SECRET that was constantly referenced. I did appreciate the political innocence of Corey Sifter and the pulling back of the curtain of the underbelly of politics.
