Even I myself am not entirely sure what this book is doing on my to-read shelf. I think it comes from watching too much of "Ancient Aliens" on the History Channel.

William Bramley's tome, Gods of Eden, is an excellent examination of our world, its hidden history, and the causes of today's tragic circumstance.

Originally released in 1989, Gods of Eden is a critical look back at our history. It starts in in ancient times and gradually moves forward, giving us information and analysis that we never would have expected. Bramley examines ancient texts, reviewing the UFO phenomenon as it presented itself in pre-history. He interprets writings in a much more liter

William Bramley makes the case that governments and religions, throughout history, have had their strings pulled by "the brotherhood" in order to keep us at war, in poverty, or otherwise distracted to retard our spiritual growth.

I found the historical evidence to be informative and accurate. He covers the crusades and Knights Templar of 1119, Freemasonry of 1717 to the present, Adam Weishaupt's Bavarian Illuminati of 1776, the problems associated with fiat currency such as hyperinflation, Americ

This book was interesting and while I really can't buy into some of his theories they were well thought out and seemed to be well researched. I love a good conspiracy theory and if it involves the possibility of extraterrestrials known as "custodians" teamed up with secret societies well then it is even better in my mind. This book was well done and did a good job of pointing out the machiavellian nature of our society through history and the history of a "brotherhood" (i.e. Masons etc.) society ...more

Did my history teacher forget certain things in my lectures in my youth? Probably not because it seems the truth is well hidden and corrupt.

William Bramley went writing a book about why we (humans)fight and kill each other all the time and it turns out there are many factions and hidden truths that keep us from knowing who we are and what our potential is.

If you've got a conspiracy theory- this book takes it on.

This is one of those I've figured it all out" type of books. The author explains: UFOs, how people came to be, secret societies, Marxism, world banks, Capitalism, Communism,major/minor religions, the JFK/King/RFK assassination, CIA/FBI, royalty, assassination attempts on Pope JP2/Reagan... and much much more.

It's all well footnoted and that's why the book gets a 3 star rating. That and the fact he's a very good writer and it had very few

Disclaimer: reviewing this book is in no way endorsing or supporting the theories contained in the book.

This is a unique mashup. It is like ancient aliens meets the da Vinci code with Hidden History and National Treasure. However it was published in 1989 so you can conclude many of those things were influenced by this work.

This is a book of speculative theories regarding how humans were created, how societies evolved, who those early gods were and what influence they have today.

The beginning w

A near perfect text that delves into the hidden history of humanity. In it you will learn the history of several orders including that of Freemasonry (that will make you more knowledgeable than Master Masons) and both Illuminatis.

If you are interested in history or the hidden truth this is most definitely a book for you but it comes with one fall. The book fails to go into the collapse of the Vedic Empire and thus has one crucial flaw in its proposition regarding the transition of power. With t

good writing, good ideas, a little too Sitchin for not being Sitchin. some weird race stuff. uncomfortable moments. the analysis of Marxism is laughable and sort of throws the whole book in a bad light.

Bramley has taken me and my brain to another level. not recommended for the weak faith-ed. he explained many many fraud upon and highly debated thoughts and ideas. I don't agree with a lot of it, but it is refreshing to read his inputs.

As I first began to read this book, I kept wondering if what Bramley was saying was just polemically written to piss off people of faith. I don't entirely believe some of the things that he states when it comes to dispelling science but many of the historical context of his research is pretty convincing. It was a very hard book to put down as you find yourself reading if some of what he states is true when it comes to the biblical proverbs by looking them up. You do however have to have somewhat ...more

Bramley gives a good overview of the thesis that there is a hidden hand of extra-terrestrial origin behind the elite secret societies and powers structures that keep humankind tethered to war and societal disarray. If anything this book is hampered by the sheer scope of the project. In essence Bramley attempts to cover most of recorded civilised history and explain the influence of the aforementioned 'Custodians' during the transpiring events. What results is 'little butter spread over too much ...more

The Gods of Eden by William Bramley is a relatively old book written in 1989. It is interesting to note that his purpose was to search the origins of human warfare and not to write this kind of book. Something that is supported by the fact that he hasn’t written anything else since then.
I read the book about 8 months ago. Even if I have read other books related to conspiracy theories and UFOs, Gods of Eden was the only one that captivated me because of the way the information is presented, whic

Bramley’s original research intentions were to research the cause of war. In the course of doing so, what he stumbled upon, is quite extraordinary. However, the book requires the reader to forget everything they think they know and be open minded. If you can do this, then you will be taken on a journey through history like never before.

Beginning in Sumeria (modern-day Middle East), Bramley examines the truth of the ancient alien theory and concludes that it is real. These ETs he refers to as the

Unlike, Leslie Kean's UFOs, Bramley's book is a bit of a stretch. Kind of like watching an Oliver Stone movie, such as JFK, take it with two grains of salt. He did a great deal of research, but some of the connections he makes simply have no basis in fact. However, it is a blast to read and if you take it with those grains of salt, take what you need and leave the rest, you will be entertained. He is a marvelous writer and very creative. His insights and scrupulous research into the Sumerian, As ...more

Conspiracy theory book that takes some interesting ideas and stretches them way too far. Sometimes it's the simple explanation that works. For example, he implies the assassination attempt on Reagan was part of a conspiracy. I always thought it was former chief spook Poppy Bush talking to his good friend's mentally ill son and suggesting that Jodie would really like it if he shot Reagan, although I suppose PNAC might have been part of it.

Anyway, the history in this book droned on, bringing in th

A lot of this material will be familiar to fans of the ancient astronaut theory and its various offshoots. Some of it is similar to some of the opinions expressed by David Icke. And some of this material is somewhat original.

Digging a bit, I learned that the author (William Bramley is a pseudonym) is a former Scientologist, and the influence of that "religion" is evident throughout the book. But, don't let that turn you off from reading it. I certainly don't agree with all of the author's concl

This is the most comprehensive book I've read about the possibility of there being a controlling group of either other-world or on-worlders that are not part of we humans. It fully explains, from the oldest historical record to the present how this control of humans and the Earth have been applied. It also gives no solution.

According to the author, the reason for the control of humans is that the controllers do not want humans to realize that each has a spirit(soul) and that it is not necessary

Absolutely the most informative and most well researched book on the subject of the history of intelligent beings having visited Earth tens of thousands of years ago. Setting the path of human development and having a Machiavellian influence in human affairs throughout history. Each chapter of this book could in it's self have been a book. An amazing read and a must read for those interested in understanding a larger picture of human development.

This was an incredibly dense book that I'd need to read three times to absorb completely. That said, it objectively presented and connected lots of theories and historical events. It introduced many concepts which I look forward to investigating more in additional books.

Might be a bit too much for some , but if you can keep an open mind and simply keep thinking “I’m not saying, I’m just saying”. William Brumley lay this out with a lot of history backing up his proposal. Changed my life

Great book, of course it'll be labeled as "conspiracy" for the "common" person.

A very interesting perspective of the story and conflicts of the world, anyway, more interesting than the one they teach us in school :)

If you've an open mind, read it, if not, don't waste your time.
