A poetic description of human perception of time throughout history and how that perception, coupled with biology, has created what we now call biography, leading to the question of how much control we really have over our individual destinies. Bryant shows how the cycles of Jupiter and Saturn parallel specific internal and external changes in various stages of human growth and how these changes drive us to act out our personal story on the stage of life. He calls this process the "creation of the soul", as if the soul is not necessarily a birthright, but something that grows in substance through various incarnations of human, earthly experience.
