I seriously felt like a 12-year-old again. I can see why the author - Cameron Ventura - is also a filmmaker . . . the scenes really pop off the page . . . and I also enjoyed the personal relationships between the characters. A very fun and exciting read . . .

This was a fun book - definitely written for a middle school audience. With that said, it's a page turner (even for adults!). It's about two boys in a small, rural town who can't help but find trouble. This time, it's big trouble. Like a dead body, a violent transient man on a train, and two rough criminals behind it all. Mixed into the adrenaline rush is an underlying theme about doing what is right. I am going to pass this book on to my sixth grade nephew and I know he will love it. I can't wait to check out the next book in this series by Cameron Ventura – It's Now or Never.

Truly a great start to a series. Ventura and Mansfield created a page-turner for every age. I'm really excited for the next one!
