He gets onto the Romans and provides information unavailable in more general narratives or different like Scipio's training of his army in Spain, how Marius defeated the Cimbri, who barely spoke a human language, and Caesar's ways with his men, fellow-soldiers. He ends with women's stratagem's. I particularly like the Persian women's asking their cowardly men did they want to go back where they came from.
