read to my kids for school. straightforward account of Chinggis Khans life. I was a little confused by some of the illustrations that made him look European, including the cover illustration. but there were several actual Mongolian illustrations of him that were more accurate. a pretty quick read, I think the author maybe praised his integrity in valuing loyalty a little too highly, but also highlighted his vindictiveness and thirst for vengeance. while his military accomplishments are pretty incredible I wouldn't call that a life well lived.
