You did so good, baby,” Jamie murmured. “I’m so proud of you. Right now, just sleep.”
Kyle drifted off with a sigh and a softly whispered, “Love you.”
“I love you, too.”

“Love you,” Alexei murmured, unable to keep the words to himself any longer.
Sean blinked in surprise, eyes snapping up from their linked hands to meet Alexei’s gaze. Those warm brown eyes searched Alexei’s face for a few seconds before Sean leaned forward and kissed him gently

I absolutely love this series, which is pretty surprising since I've never been a big fan of Sci Fi books before. But...Hailey made hell freeze over, and now I am hooked :P

I was a bit worried about this 4th instalment though. I am mostly blaming Hailey for this because she kept freaking me out with little bits of info...also the title is a bit worrysome ;)

Before I go any further with this review, you should know that this book can not be read as a stand alone. This is a series and it should be

Do you see that gleaming ray Hawkeye is creating with his bow? Yeah? That’s the ray of light I needed to get in my Metahumans mood once again and Hailey Turner achieved to shine one more time and blind me with some good stuff.
I’m not always up for superheroes stories. In fact, excluding a handful of good ones I find the superheroes movies and tv shows tremendously mediocre and the hype they create doesn’t help to my cause either. Shitty dialogues, zero

... not only action-wise, but also on a high emotional level which left me reeling. And here I thought I was prepared: I bought a whole truckload of chocolate, stocked up on wine (which proved not to be strong enough, so you might want to opt for a better choice), compelled my cat to cuddle-duty and even had a teddy bear at the ready, in case my cat decides to cut and run again. Not to mention the

Well the author's dark side certainly came out loud and clear in this installment. I'm still recovering. For someone who reads the occasional horror story, I'm okay with torture scenes, but when beloved characters are involved, it hurts!! Kyle's actions help sooth some of the pain though.

As painful as some of the scenes were in this book were, I'll admit that this series just keeps getting better. The author has a gift for delivering ACTION PACKED
This book gutted me. Well, probably bad choice of words since there is some "gutting" in here. Oh man, it is not for the faint of heart. There is a lot going on as things progress with the mission and Jamie's father's campaign. But god save me, the torture! It made me queasy and it made me cry. What Alexei and Sean suffered through was just horrible. It broke my heart for these two. I think extreme graphic violence in books is not my thing. Jamie and Kyle were a nice surprise at the end but I ...more

Solid 4 Stars!

I'm still really enjoying this series but I find it leans a bit more towards being a suspense read vs a romance read.

I'd prefer a bit more romance.

“The things you let me do to you,” Jamie murmured, kissing him softly on the corner of his mouth.
“Mm,” was all Kyle could manage, the noise a smug little hum passing across his lips. A thank you, a love you, that he knew Jamie would understand.
No matter the language, Jamie always knew what he wanted, what he needed.

This book! What a wild ride! Honestly, the best description for how you'll feel while reading this is like you're on a rollercoaster. You'll be up, then you'll be down, then you'll be up, then you'll be down, then you'll be screaming as you go down the big ass drop, but then breathe easier and happier once you get to the end. This book truly felt like a rollercoaster ride, but an awesome one - although frustrating at the same time.

Going into this I was a bit apprehensive because the blurb said
**2.5 stars** rounded up because the writing is great and the world-building is still fascinating.
This is not a stand-alone : all the previous books need to be read before. This is the story of a Metahuman military team, including 2 couples, Jamie/Kyle and Alexei/Sean, trying to prevent the deadly bio-terrorism attacks that only a few can survive while gaining enhanced capabilities.

I feel a little bit down by this one. All the niggles I had with the first 2 books came back magnified and like a

****3.5 Stars****It took me some time to feel invested in this fourth installment of this great series. Perhaps I’d waited too long before picking this one up. Maybe I simply wasn’t in the mood for an urban fantasy with an unstoppable villain. Out of the four books, this is my least favorite, but it was still good.

Regardless, I kept at it and soon found myself peeking up not at the political and gubernatorial machinations, but at the violent sex between

What a headrush this book is!

I didn't know what to do with myself when I was reading this book.

One minute I wanted to put it down because I couldn't bear to read anymore of what was going on, the next I was devouring it as quickly as I could to make sure that everyone was alright.

The pacing is exceptional, the plotting takes you right into the heart of the story like you're watching a newsreel and the action is unfolding around you.
It has your pulse racing and my heart was in my throat for the

Earth - Year - 2285 This amazing paranormal, Sci-Fi series introduces us to the world in the future, where Metahumans, men and women with exceptional powers, battle evil to make the world a better place.

In the MDF, Metahuman Defense Force, their skills that they wield: anti-gravity, pyrotechnics, super strength, telekinesis, self healing and more. I love their code names and nicknames, too.

We met Apollo/Jaime, head of the MDF, his sniper and secret lover, Reaper/Kyle,

This is another action packed installment in this epic series. It was non-stop action, and I devoured every word. There were several parts that brought tears to my eyes. TBH, I had forgotten how dominant Jamie was in reference to his relationship with Kyle. Wowza, did I get reminded. There were also parts that had me cringing for these boys. My only complaint would be not enough time for the couple. There was very little relationship time for the boys. This was about 90% action, and 10% couple ...more

In the Blood is the continuation of Metahuman Files Series and tells the story of Alexei, Sean, Jamie, Kyle. Told from multiple point of view the story is a fast-paced, action-packed delivery of intrigue, suspense, mystery and romance.

I will not go more into plot and spoil it, but the overall story arc continues in this book and it is truly amazing. I loved the way the author keeps twists and turns coming. The best part about these books is that the author manages to strike a balance
Wow, what a rush! From the small and sweet moments to action-packed fights this book has it all. I really enjoyed reading and living life with my favorite metahumans.

Jamie and Kyle, of course, are the best at what they do either on a mission or in their bed. I loved them together and was really sad that they still had to hide how much they loved each other from the world. Alexei and Sean on the other hand were open about their relationship and let's just say that Sean has come a long way from

And, so very, very, good.

I love these two Sean and Jaime are my most favorite character to read in this series. They both are badass. Not a coupl, but strong characters that I look for when I read.

This book consumed me.

I’m not big on the couple matching but, the storyline I love.

This book was filled with lots of action, blood and gore. Adventure, lots of plot and PTSD which I have a soft heart for and it was done well. This book was on-page POW brutal. But, IMO there was

Straight-up 5 Stars!

The action & thrills picked up right from the end of the previous book and didn’t let up till the very end. I almost forgot how good Hailey Turner is with this series. Never again.

Amidst all the “baddasery” we get the further development of two vastly different couples in this series : We had Jamie&Kyle with their kink-heavy love(which was less emotional and more sex) and then we had my favourites Sean&Alexei with the heart & feels. The horrors

I have loved this series since the first book came out but kind of hit a wall with this instalment around the halfway point. I just got distracted by shinier things and put this aside for a while. Something I could never have imagined with any of the previous books.

The writing was still great, the characters still popped but the plot... the plot was not doing it for me. This whole undercover-plain-sight storyline has been taking up more and more room for a while now and it frankly confused and

I was just about done with this dragged out story and was sooo close to throwing in the towel. But then Hailey Turner upped the ante and elevated the stakes sooo much that omg, I can’t believe she went there! I have to say, it was good. Heartbreaking and brutal but good!

Now I absolutely need to finish this long drawn battle!

Why can we only give 5 Stars.... This book deserves so much more...

Going into this one you have to have previously read and/or listened to the first three books in order to follow the story and not be completely lost as to what is happening and who all the characters are. This is not a standalone book in any way.

This was a crazy wild ride I did not want to get off of. I was on the edge of my seat. Biting my nails nervous about what was

Wow! That as certainly tense! Still reeling from it.
Action packed to the brim, the fight against superbaddie Stanislaw and his minions continues to put me on the edge of the seat. How on earth can you win a fight against someone who can see the future?!
Well, as Jamie says, you can't.

I do hope our beloved Metahumans team will find a way, particularly after being dragged through the hedge backwards in the most brutal way in this book. Tbh that is putting it mildly. I actually had tears in my eyes

I've given this an A+ for narration and an A for content at AudioGals.

Hailey Turner’s futuristic Metahuman Files series has got better and better with each successive instalment as the overarching plotline moves inexorably towards what is sure to be an exciting, nail-biting finale in the fifth and final book, In the Requiem. In audio, we’ve reached book four, In the Blood, and in it – to use the vernacular – the shit hits the fan big time. The author does an absolutely fabulous job here of

It took me a little bit to get through the first part of this one, but when it took off - I couldn’t put it down. The action storyline was dense and had a little less payoff than I like. The bad guys feel like that mythical beast where you cut off one head and two more grow in its place. And we had more time with Jamie’s self absorbed family although some very satisfying bits were included in those interactions.

Jamie/Kyle and Alexei/Sean are among my favorite couples in this genre. So strong

OMG This was amazing!!! This series just gets better and better!!!

If you like superhero's than you'll especially love this installment. Full of action. I'm out of breath because of it. Such an amazing wordbuilding this author gave.

I could see it playing in my head perfectly. I love all these special powers these Metahumans have. And the romance on the side!!!! Don't get me started.. I love Jamie and Kyle just a tinnie bit more than Alexei and Sean. Alexei and Sean are sweet together

Tissues, anyone?

This book wrecked me. Stressed me out. Made me cry. And it was freaking brilliant.

Uniquely, it focused on both Jamie/Kyle and Alexei/Sean and managed to not let either couple feel left out. It's a continuation of the previous books and cannot be read as a standalone, so you will want to start with the first book. It's definitely worth it, though, as this series has quickly become a favorite of mine.

Fair warning - there is some heavy, explicit content in this story. It's

I have been a rabid fan of the this series since I read the first one, and as soon as I got the opportunity to review this book, I snatched it up. These books need to be read in order, as there is a metaplot driving the entire series. And In The Blood is the best one yet.

If you’ve read my previous reviews of the series, you know how outstanding I think the world building here is. It’s inventive and complete, with each element being solidly grounded. The rules and
