STANDALONE NOVEL
“Why do you stay with him knowing he’s not the one?”
“Auntie, you wouldn’t understand….”
“Baby, I understand a lot more than you might think I do. Your auntie has been in this world for a long time, and I’m from the same east side of Detroit that your mother is from,”
“It’s just different now than when it was when you and Mama came up. The world has changed since then. You didn’t have to go through the same struggles that we go through now,”
“You know baby, I used to be in a relationship just like yours. He wined me, dined me. I was so happy with my man, we used to catch flights every week. I started planning our life together, what it would be like when we got married.”
“What’s wrong with that?”
“When I woke up in Houston and realized it was all a lie….”
*
Dominic a.k.a. Dom is a self-made man who has no patience for disloyalty in his life. He’s seen too much on the streets of Detroit and been through more as a product of his environment. Not all women caught his eye, deep down he wanted that one woman who would make him feel complete based on his past. That was before he met HER. With all of her baggage, SHE showed him there was more to life. SHE taught him how to love. SHE held his heart. Then she left him for HIM.
Seeing so much destruction on the streets of Detroit ain’t normal for nobody, but for Marko it’s life. Never knew his mother, and with a fiend for a father, a bright future and happily ever after was nothing he aspired to. That was before he met HER. SHE was sexy, a melanin goddess in a world of peasants. Smart, but rough around the edges, SHE was the one who grounded him. He needed HER in his life, SHE gave him love. SHE gave him hope. Then SHE left him for HIM.
HE wants her mind, body and soul. HE wants her body and love. SHE is torn between two men. Which one will she choose?

Really good

Let me just say that Aphrodite worked my last nerve and I despised Marko. He was really crazy. Dom is bae. Apple finally opened her eyes to what was going on. She was starting to piss me off with all those chances that she kept giving Marko. I had to keep reminding myself that it is just a story and not real. I was all up into it. Lol. Yeah for Aphrodite and Dom.

Exceptionally well done.

I do so love a good love story, the way Dom and Apple hooked up and became friends first was just how a lasting relationship usually works out. I was surprised that the websites were how he did his gun business and that Svetlana was his sister. Very good ending.

Good book

This was a good book. The plot was different. The only issue I had was I felt like timelines were off and there were inconsistencies in the plot. Was Marko 17? Or was he 17 when he met Aphrodite but not when the story was taking place? How old was Aphrodite? Did her and Marko live together months or years? Her dad said her mom said she ran away 3 years ago but than she mentioned she hadn’t seen her dad in 10 years. If her mom was an executive why did they live in the ghetto? Besides that Dom was my favorite character and Di was kinda wispy washy.

Great book

FATIMA is one of my favorite authors and always delivers on every book. I felt sorry for Aphrodite. She had to watch her siblings and then the things she did to survive. I'm glad she was thinking of getting her life together for her child's sake. Marko was such a jerk. He was too dang cocky for his own good. I loved Dom though. Even though he was married he needed a shoulder to lean on and I'm glad it was Aphrodite. Everything turned out perfect in the end which was amazing because towards the end I was scared to read toward to find what happened. Again awesome book.

Loved it

When I first read this mannnnnn it had me at the start frfr. When it came to Aphrodite I felt very sorry for how she was treated by her family. She had to deal with a lot to try surviving through her difficult situations. I felt for her when she had to do the things that she did to get by. I'm glad she was able to get through it all for the sake of her baby. Now Marko he was such a jerk and too cocky for his own good. I am very glad that Dom was able to find a good friend in Aphrodite which everyone should be able to have that one friend they can come to and talk their problems too. I really loved this book.. Great job Fatima 😘😘😘

Tell me you love me
Shoulda let you go
This is my first time reading this author's work. Tell me you love me, was a book of short stories. I'm not a big fan of short story books because for some reason they are hard for me to rate. However! It made me, go check out another book by her Shoulda let you go. I'm not sure if I am fair in giving her a 4* for this book because I read it in a major reader's block, she may deserve higher so I'm going to try another one by her when ever I come out of this block
4*

Good Read

This was a good standalone that had alot of twist and turns. Who knew just about everybody in the story was connected in some way. Marko was really screwed up in the head. To find out the truth about his "father" made me feel a little sorry for him. I'm glad Apple got it together! Getting away from her mom and Marko getting locked up did her some justice. Thank God she finally decided to give Dom a chance. Love the way it ended.

What a Ride !!!!

This was a great standalone. Loved how all situations were handled. Aunt Anjelica was my hero. She gave it to Aphrodite straight up, no chaser. Aphrodite pissed me always wanting to run !! Marco was evil from beginning to end. Some of the things he did was inexcusable. Aphrodite pissed loved to hard for for the wrong man. Don had his flaws but redeemed himself in the end. Loved that they got their happiness 😊😊😊

Apple vs Aphrodite

I love this story and the growth of Aphrodite. In the beginning I was not feeling her at all but save grew up. I love the length of this story. It held my attention from start to finish. Marco, Marco , Marco he got on my last nerve both he and Melanie are my two least favorite characters.

Great read

There was a plot twists it seemed like every turn of the page. At one point you had me thinking it really was a set up lol I'm glad it was a standalone because I would've been upset if I had to wait for pt 2. I still think the aunt was her mother because she never actually said what happened to her child. Maybe we need a pt 2 after all lol

Ok

Reading this book was different for me It had a good story line but it just didn't grab my attention. It had a few errors but could be looked over. Can't say I like Marko with his shady self Dim was a little supposedly to good to be true. Mel should have got her just desserts Apple was just to wishy washy..

Fast Read

So first let me start by saying Aphrodite is soooooo stupid in this book. She got on my last nerves. Marko was just sick in the head and I'm happy he got his karma in the end. I love Dom he was the man that had his s*** together. What I would've liked to have seen in the book, was more about Melanie and if Marko had the virus. Overall the book was good.

Great read

Interesting story line. Apple was making me mad because I felt like she was giving Marko too many chances but I’m glad she finally got it together and her and Dom were together. He was clearly the better person for her and her daughter. Marko was just straight crazy

This was a really good book. Aphrodite got on my nerves with the running she was doing. I hated that she let Marko get in her head so tough. I’m glad that we knew what happened to Marko’s mom though. I’m glad that Aphrodite & Dom got together.

A good one

I enjoyed this book. It just showed how small the world ready is. How everyone seemed to be connected in some way. I was surprised that Di decided to give Marko another chance but happy she ended up with Dom.

Very interesting plot, for a minute I just knew Di was going to be a damn fool for Marko. Marko was beyond crazy. Then who would have known that Dom wife was fucking everything walking. I really enjoyed this book.

Review of Shoulda Let You Go

Fatima you pulled out all of your ammunition when you wrote this book. Marko was a young evil disrespectful SOB. Aphrodite turned her negative life into a positive and valuable experience. She had a moment of weakness but she bounced back.

Standalone drama

What a great read. Drama from start to finish. Aphrodite has my heart. Really felt bad for her and Mark needed Jesus, Allah, and Budda. Fatima. Best thing it is a standalone. That answered all questions.

This was a good book. I wasn't drawn in by it much in the beginning and I didn't like Aphrodite at first, but I liked her more as time went on. It wasn't all that predictable, which was a good thing, and as the plot untangled, I started enjoying more characters

Good read

I wasn’t gonna read at first but I’m glad I did it was good from beginning to end. I don’t know how I feel about Aphrodite because she went back to Marko even after how he treated her. And the whole time Marko mother was looking for him smh 😩
