Beautifully written, this work of women’s fiction will have you yearning for the Christmas season to begin.

The cover alone is so welcoming, as are the engaging, well developed characters in this storyline which warms the heart.

Survivor’s guilt is a crushing burden to bear, and nobody knows that more than Suzanne. She is the adoptive mother of three daughters, Hannah, Beth and Posy. They lost their biological parents twenty-five years ago due to a tragic accident which still haunts Suzanne and he
Sarah Morgan writes perfect festive fare that makes your heart melt. This is a great escapist fare, a rom-com with all the ingredients that have you turning the pages, family trauma, sisters that love each other, but have struggled to create close supportive bonds, and a winning location in the small community of Glensay in the wintry Scottish Highlands. Suzanne is looking forward to the festive season and her reunion with her daughters visiting from Manhattan, New York, Beth, married to Jason w ...more

I know Sarah Morgan comes highly recommended. I read one other book by her which was more women's fiction than romance which didn't completely work for me because of the four different point of views, alternating telling the story of them. I was bummed when I realized that this one is women's fiction as well, again with four point of views. It's such a shame because, dammit, I want to read a Sarah Morgan romance!

All four women are connected through one event that took t

Delightfully mesmerizing, positively heartwarming, and absolutely brilliant!

The Christmas Sisters is an engaging, beguiling story that sweeps you away to the beautiful ruggedness of the Scottish Highlands in winter and immerses you into the lives of the McBride family as they confront the past, accept the things they cannot change, forgive, accept, repair fractured relationships, take chances, and embrace the future.

The writing is expressive, effortless, and polished. The characterization is spo

Suzanne McBride is dreaming of a perfect Christmas as her three adopted daughters are coming home for the holidays. Beth, Hannah and Posy lost their biological parents to a tragic accident twenty five years ago. The accident still haunts Suzanne and the girls and has affected the women in different ways.

The book is set in Bonnie Scotland of which the author describes beautifully. The chapters alternate between the women. The message behind this story is to love, trust, accept yourself and the ot

Yes, I realize that it’s only September and I’m already reading Christmas books and I’m totally ok with that! I’m like a little kid when it comes to the holiday season and I’m always more than ready to get into the holiday spirit, even before fall has officially started haha. The Christmas Sisters was the perfect book to bring the magic of the season to life and it made me even more excited about the holidays than I already am.

This follows a mom and her three daughters and you hear from each of

A touching story about family and parenting, sisters, drama and tragedy in love and life during one special Christmas time that shakes up the relationships in the family and leads them all to a new path in life.
I absolutely adore the way Sarah Morgan tells a story; there are deep emotions and angst but not so much that it overshadows the story hope and love. There are conflicts, passion, humor, warmth, sweetness, and everything else that are part of the relationships and life, yet when I get to

This book was simply brilliant from the first page and didn't want to put ot down the story was so like real life and the characters are brilliant and the story plot is so believable. Perfect Christmas read to curl up in front of a fire and enjoy Christmas. It's all about family life and how all a mother wants is for her children to be happy and in love and enjoy being with each other. Plenty of romance and sisterly love but also heartbreaking and how they have to deal with the past in order to ...more

3.5 stars. It has plenty of moments of sweetness and Christmas cheer and very likeable characters. The sisters and their husbands/love interests and the parents were nicely differentiated and the moppets were cute and well integrated. But the plot turns felt a bit forced at times and the important moments weren't always clearly grounded and motivated. And the village and its people were barely there. Morgan is always worth reading, but for whatever reason, this didn't click as well for me as the ...more

The Christmas Sisters
Sarah Morgan

Morgan’s latest is contemporary women’s fiction at it’s finest a superb novel about family, loss, blessings and love. Set during the Christmas season in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands staring the most genuine cast of characters that ever graced the pages of fiction all equals in importance and all unforgettable. The backdrops are breathtaking the narrative is fluent and conversational with timely humor that mixes brilliantly with the tumultuous emotional sub

I have no idea how she does it, but yet again Sarah Morgan is treating us to a simply marvellous story, all about sisters and family.

For the Christmas sisters aren't really that close, a terrible accident in their past has shaped how all three ladies are today as well as their mother Suzanne. With the viewpoint switching each chapter to a different one of our four leading ladies, we get to know Hannah, Beth, Posy and Suzanne really well, and probably even better than they know each other.

If you are looking for a sweet story, set in the Christmas season- this is IT!
I really, really enjoyed this family story and have no hesitation in highly recommending it! The tragedy which led to Suzanne McBride adopting three sisters is still impacting on all of their lives twenty five years later. The three sisters rarely get together now, except for at Christmas. This year, however, things are going to be very different for them all as they discover that assumptions about each other can be so wrong and they all have their own secrets. The story explores events from the ...more

Absolutely fantastic book, in this book Ms Morgan encompasses all her unique talents rolled in to one, romance being the main one with many arcs, twists and turns, from adorable characters (yes more than one), those who need love to heal, those who think they need to be more, misunderstandings and much more all of which come together as only Ms Morgan can do to create her magic.

I didn't read this book, I devoured it! Love stories with loving families, ones that get along but are real as well. Take three sisters, all different, 2 living in New York. Beth is married with 2 little girls and Hannah is not married and it seems like she does not like kids. Posy still lives with her parents in Scotland, but she dreams of climbing mountains everywhere. They come together for Christmas once again and boy do conflicts collide. Stewart and Suzanne adopted the girls and never look ...more

A book that I finished with a happy smile on my face, and it left me feeling a little bit festive - although it's far too early to let that feeling grow! I have three sisters and I enjoyed reading about the three sisters and their mum who are the main characters in this warm family tale, I totally empathised with the bickering and family roles that we all tend to fall back into far too easily. I liked the switching viewpoints, they kept me interested and helped weave events into an absorbing sto ...more

In a flurry of Christmas lights and snowfall comes The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan. I love reading Christmas books that's mainly because I love Christmas and so does Suzanne who wants to have her three daughters and her grandchildren over for the festive season in the Scottish Highlands.

This book follows three sisters Hannah, Beth and Posy and their relationship with each other, and they think that each sister has the perfect life.

Such a heartwarming read. Really loved this one. Here we have the story of three sisters who faced tragedy as young children. Each were affected differently and as adults they grew apart. In this book, due to certain events, they all decide to return home for Christmas in Scotland. They finally have a chance to heal some festering wounds from their childhood.

I really loved this. We get each sisters point of view as well as the mother. I think this was really effective as I was able to see thing

Another really good one. I'm a fan of Sarah Morgan's new direction!

But I did need more Hannah. (Four point of views might be one too many.) And Beth's husband was toooo awful about how easy it is to be a stay at home mom. He learned his lesson, but it still turned me off a lot.

Oh, also Mount Rainier is HERE. Like, right over there!* It was a surprise to have it show up in this story!

#FirstLine ~ There are good anniversaries, and bad anniversaries.

This book was the perfect story to kick off the holiday season. I loved the setting, the characters and story. It was such a well drawn out story that perfectly blended the life of all the characters into a story that was both moving and poignant. It was one of those books that make you want to cozy up on your blanket and reminisce. I think this book could be a Hallmark movie, as it played out like a movie in my mind!
