^^^ me when I finished this novella and it was a fucking CLIFFHANGER.

Ugh. I had no clue it was a cliffhanger. I would have waited to read it!!! I need time to cool off. Rating and review to come when I am less angry about a novella with a cliffy and the next book is being released a fucking year from now.

I've read pretty much all of Armentrout's books, and this novella did not let me down! The Wicked series has been an awesome ride, so I was pretty ecstatic to see the Prince was getting a novella along with Brighton.

The Prince is a unique character that we learn more about as you get into the novella. As for Brighton, I loved her! Plus, we get more of Tink and his awesomeness. What I liked about this novella was it wasn't just about a romance. It had a great story and a bond that slowly progress

The Prince is a novella set in the A Wicked trilogy universe after the events of the final novel, Brave. As with all 1001 Nights novellas, The Prince can be read as a stand-alone story within the A Wicked trilogy universe. However, I wouldn’t recommend reading it unless you’ve read the original trilogy. Though The Prince does a fantastic job of keying in readers about past events, readers will inevitable be missing out on key emotional beats and context. So, with that said, let’s proceed to my r ...more

I really don't feel like this was a novella that the original Wicked trilogy needed. I enjoyed reading Brighton's story and also the little update we got about Ivy and Ren. But I just couldn't stand the prince, he had some good features but his behaviour was just a big no for me. Thankfully Tink was just the little funny creature we all came to know and love.

The Prince was everything I absolutely love about Jennifer L. Armentrout! It was a page turner, had a sigh worthy male, a heroine I loved, an addicting storyline, and by just that second chapter I found myself bawling my eyes out. Between the tears, smiles and laughter, my emotions were all over the place. JLA packed so much emotion and action into this book that I still can't believe I was reading a novella. I absolutely loved The Prince and I was left feeling so excited to see what happens in ...more

Interestingly, this novella (in fact, all of the novellas for this trilogy) revolves around our beloved secondary characters in the series, a.k.a. Brighton and Caden and my favorite, TINK, and so many more. To be honest, I personally enjoy this book more than the original series because there are more exciting elements such as the slowing brewing war between the Summer and the Winter empires. I'm also fascinated by Brighton's transformation from a plain human being to something potentially far m ...more

So, so good! 4.5 stars!

This novella is a spin off from The Wicked Trilogy, and takes us straight back into JLA’s fantastic urban fantasy world set in downtown New Orleans where the fae exist and prey on unsuspecting humans. It’s fast paced, fun and exciting with a sense of intrigue and the beginnings of a UST-filled romance that will have you shivering with anticipation. Be aware that it’s only the first part of the story and you’ll have to wait for part two, but if you don’t mind the cliffhange
My only complaint...
I. W A N T E D. M O R E!!!!

All my favorite things to read wrapped up in one marvelous novella. Armentrout rocked that balance, creating perfect symmetry, giving us just the right amount of fantasy, suspense, action, romance and even some humor catapulting the world of The Prince to life.

What the hell was that ending?!? I thought this was supposed to be a novella, like an epilogue type ending to the Wicked triliogy! Not a beautifully written story which expanded the characters of both Brighton and The Prince Caden and end on a fricken cliffhanger!!! So uncool.

What the f, Jen? So uncool. I need The King, like, now.

wow.... Oh wow.
The Prince was really good. For a novella it was packed full of action and adventure without it feeling overwhelming.
But that cliffhanger though... 😮
The Prince by Jennifer L. Armentrout was a solid 4.5 for me... but let's be real...aren't all her books always so good?

The first word that comes to my mind is WOW...seriously i wasn't expecting to get that much into this novella so fast. Of course i absolutely love everything Jen write (pretty sure i would buy her grocery shopping list) and i adored the Wicked series so i knew going back to that world would be a winner for me.

I liked the glimpse of Brighton i got the the wicked series and seeing this world through her eyes was a breath of fresh air. She's not the ultimate badass full of confidence

I never know in how much of a reading funk I am until I pick up a JLA book and it knocks my socks right off.

It pains my heart that we have to wait a whole year for continuing Brighton and Caden's story. I do not approve of this, Armentrout. I don't. But I will obviously be waiting.

(what is it about these 1001 Dark Nights novellas Armentrout writes about secondary characters that end up surpassing the original series and becoming my faves? Man.)

Ok but this novella was WAY better than the original trilogy and that's the tea.

But I didn't know it ended in a cliffhanger. Now I don't know what to do because I want my ship to sail.

This was so very good. I have to admit Brighton's actions were a bit stupid at times, but I still really liked her; and understood her reasoning. The Prince... Swoon... Loved him! If you are a fan of the Wicked Trillogy, this is a must read. Absolutely my favorite book in this world so far. Only problem is I have to wait until next summer for the next book! 😒 Happy reading! 😊

PS. This is a cliffhanger. It wasn't bad enough to make me want to throw my Kindle against the wall

What a great novella to go with this series I really liked that it wasn’t about Ivy and Ren.
I wanted more closure on The Prince though I don’t think I really got it if anything I have more questions. I hope there is another book because this left us with a perfect open-ended story.

Brighton wasn’t really a side character I thought much about but now that I have read this it really makes sense it was her. I just want more! Lol

The narration again I liked it, I think she does a great job with The

Going back into the Wicked world was just awesome. When I first heard about this novella being written, I didn't know who it would be about besides The Prince, but I couldn't be more happy to find Brighton as one of the two main characters.

Brighton has always been a character that intrigued me because she kept a lot of herself, but in this novella, you get to see a whole lot more of her and how far she's willing to go to get to what she wants. She's no

Disclaimer: I have now read all Armentrout books, ALL of them and I might be biased!

But I have only recently read Brave and re-read Wicked and Torn and it was still great getting back into the world, having more material from it!

Well I love JLA and everything she writes.
I haven't read a book of hers that made me change my mind.
This one is no exception.

However... My patience being basically non-existent, this is hard to read this, falling in love with this characters and ending the book on a cliffhanger and knowing that you have to wait until July 2019... JULY 2019...!!!! SERIOUSLY!

So. Brighton. I loved her. Brave and badass and kind. Adorable!

Let me start by saying that this isn't a stand alone story. It does not finish on the last page. While you can certainly read it without having read the Wicked Trilogy, you will definitive be JLA watching afterwards to find out when you will get more.

Far different than every other 1001 Dark Nights Novella that I have read, this book feels like the beginning of a story. The romance develops slowly and takes a back seat to the mystery that is the Prince. What is he doing? Why is he where he is?

I didn’t think a book about Caden could be appealing to me, but I was wrong. Being short, with Jen’s style and with two new amazing characters, this book conquered me from the first quote. I loved Bri and Caden relationship, kinda starting as an enemies to lovers, but definitely evolving, and also the appearance of old characters that I loved in the previous books.

This book is fast paced, but it does give you everything you crave for and more.

It was so good to be back into the Wicked world. As usual, Jen got my attention right from the start with this book and I was sucked into this story from page one. The story was intense and had some very nail-biting moments and some pretty wild action scenes, but I loved this slow-burning romance in the story and the gradual build of feelings. Definitely a page turner

I loved Brighton. She was the shy and passive girl in the previous books, but she did have an outstanding devel

Cocktails and Books received this book for free from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review.I was so happy to go back to the Wicked world and what better way to explore it than through the eyes of Brighton.  She was the quiet, somewhat reserved daughter of Merle.  And what transpires with her gave me a new perspective on quiet Brighton.

Seriously! I mean really! I mean come on! This, this is what you give us after waiting for Wicked!!! This, sizzling, sexually anticipating, delicious spin-off, that quite frankly, I loved more than Wicked -- and I really liked The Wicked Trilogy.
