This is an excellent read for anyone unfamiliar with the Northern Irish conflict, or for those with a vague idea of its contemporary impact but not the actual events (as many in Ireland and the UK are today). The historical context in which the book was written- that is, before peace was established, at a time when a final settlement was a coin toss in terms of likelihood- really adds to the immersion too. Would highly recommend overall.
Great in depth coverage of a great man. I've only marked it down because my version only went up to 1998 and so missed out on some of the crucial stages including the Good Friday Agreement.
