I adore this tender celebration of a life well lived. The beautifully written story follows Paul, a gentle spirit and lover of music, from childhood to adulthood. His relationship with his parents is warm and loving. The watercolor and ink illustrations are gorgeous and worth looking at again and again. Possible spoiler alert: it was fun to see Paul’s future love interest appear early in the coffee shop scene. But what they accomplish together is the best surprise of all!

Delightful story. Tender. Moving. Lovely story about Paul, his music, his ukulele and his life. He grows with his ukulele, travels, leaves home and finds home. Learns a song and learns a new song. Easy to r es ad and read again. Nominally a child's book, but very satisfying to read at any age. Pick, pluck strum, becomes a lovely cha t. Highly recommended to any and all. Lovely ukulele story. Lovely story by itself.

A good story with lovely illustrations. I will say that Paul needs to find a case for his ukulele It might make hiking and traveling with it easier. :)
