Wield the code, or die by it.

Hacking is a way of life for Angie Roman. Small-time cybercrime lets her skim just enough dollars off the web to carve out a modest, if isolated, corner of existence. Angie has coffee, computers - everything she needs.

But evil haunts the cyber highway, and Angie is its target.

When dark hackers break into her computer, Angie is forced to engage in cybercrimes that go way beyond her usual petty thefts. The kind of crimes that could land her in jail for a long time. The kind of crimes that could get someone killed. And when Angie decides she wants out, the real monsters come to play. The kinds of beasts that shred flesh in the night.

Only an old street vagabond and the mysterious 'Alby' can aid Angie in uncovering the mystic tangle of the cyber highway. And only by learning a unique and dangerous magic can Angie begin to fight back.

The magic of code-x.

Addictively fast-paced and tense, Code-X is a supernatural cyber thriller that will leave you enthralled by the unimaginable darkness of cyberspace.

Galefire is an adult urban fantasy series that will appeal to lovers of the occult, horror, supernatural forces, cyber thrillers, demons, angels, vampires, paranormal romance, and, of course, fire.

Welcome to my little space out on the web. I'm Kenny Soward, and I'm an author, musician, and once IT guy. I write books in many sub-genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy, including post-apocalyptic, military science fiction, epic fantasy, and horror. I'm influenced by authors such as Stephen King, George R. R. Martin, Anne Rice, J.K. Rowling, Mark Lawrence, Dan Simmons, Robin Hobb, Robert McCammon, Larry Correia, and Mike Kraus.

I love all kinds of movies and shows from Battle Star Galactica (reboot) to the Walking Dead. There's nothing I won't try.

I grew up in Kentucky in a small suburb just south of Cincinnati, Ohio, listening to hard rock and playing outdoors. In those quiet 1970's streets, I jumped bikes, played Nerf football, and came away with many scars.

My grandfather and many of my uncles and cousins served in the United States Military, and my father was a Kentucky State Trooper. Their efforts taught me the meaning of sacrifice and gratitude. I've always had an avid curiosity about the world around me, and I hope my enthusiasm for life carries over into my stories, even the dark ones.

Fantastic book

So I won this ebook in a Goodreads Giveaway. New author to me. I loved this book. This book is about Angie she’s a hacker and she hacks people for a living, nothing huge just enough. Well one day she meets 2 people who will change her life forever. Paranormal creatures abound but until you wake up life continues as normal. Witches, vampires, werewolves all kinds of creatures plus throw in hacking and you get cyber witch. This was a great twist on normal paranormal books and I really enjoyed it.

I won this book in the giveaways and never even read the description before picking it up. Admittedly I liked the cover and figured it was some sort of sci-fi or hacker thriller but was pleasantly surprised by the mesh of supernatural and hacking. It was well paced and time flew by as I read it, I really enjoyed the action, and character development, Angie is a good protagonist. I would recommend this read.

Galefire 0.5: Code-X is described as a supernatural cyber thriller and that is correct. Angie is a hacker but is careful to only hack into carefully chosen financial accounts. She only transfers small amounts from those accounts into hers because little amounts probably won't get noticed. Big amounts would be noticed and possibly get her arrested. She writes her own programs which she thinks are tamperproof but when she sees a shadowish figure hovering over her computer and typing, she knows that someone is trying to break her code to get into her computer. But what was the thing she saw? The story certainly has supernatural elements, most in the latter part of the book. A thriller, yes, because someone, or something, goes after her and she isn't sure what it is or why it wants her. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Angie is great. I loved her character. She wants answers and isn't afraid to go looking for them even when things get rough and scary.
I didn't realize this is book 0.5 in a series, but I am definitely going to read the other books.
