I think this book would have made an excellent one page PDF or visual/graphic of a tree, but considering how short the actual book is it was a draaaaag to get through. The writing is often meandering, repetitive, or sometimes even contradictory. I did find a few useful nuggets though.

Feeling stuck in my career and where I want to go, I literally typed in Stuck Book and lo and behold, I got Chris McAlister's The Stuck Book!

I really enjoyed Chris' aligning our traditional seasons to the seasons we experience in aspects of our life, albeit this is not a new concept. Chris is quick to share personal stories that represent the concept he is teaching through the text, and these examples I feel could easily map to situations I could see myself facing as someone with a career and family.

Large brush strokes, the fall represents the learning and understanding the nature of our feelings of being "stuck". Winter represents letting how thing were before, and the things that aren't serving us to get us where we want to go. Spring is an opportunity to build in the actions and habits into our lives and the Summer is an opportunity to reinforce and grow while enjoying the fruits of our labor. Chris warns throughout the book that it is easy to get stuck in any of these seasons and gives some great "symptoms" of what being stuck looks and feels like in these seasons.

The brevity of the book was refreshing. Chris doesn't belabor the point or spend a ton of time talking about his coaching and leadership company (also refreshing).

This is a quick read & so very powerful! I really loved how he communicated the seasons we go through with practical and helpful notes on how to acknowledge them & work through it. The kind of book I will listen to every year and learn from continually!
