This fifth edition continues the tradition of focusing on understanding the underlying nature of communication problems. While thoroughly explaining the current theory and research, it also presents the "nuts and bolts' of clinical therapy in depth.
This was an ok textbook. I thought the chapters were a little too long, with not enough review questions. Often the information was too detailed, and I didn't feel I knew enough about the science part of speech disorders to understand what the authors were driving at a lot of the time. This book was also overpriced (like many psych/science textbooks). Why any university student should pay upwards of $140 for a textbook is beyond me.
