Goode, J.P., Veregin, H. 2005. Goode's world atlas. Rand McNalley.

Type of Reference: World Atlas

Call Number: REF 912

Description: This world atlas focuses on geographical information. This edition features hundreds of physical, political and thematic maps.

Review:
Goode’s World Atlas has been the world’s premiere educational atlas since 1923, and for good reason. It features over 250 pages of maps, from definitive physical and political maps to important thematic maps that illustrate the spatial aspects of many important topics. The 22nd Edition includes 160 pages of new, digitally produced reference maps, as well as new thematic maps on global climate change, sea level rise, CO2 emissions, polar ice fluctuations, deforestation, extreme weather events, infectious diseases, water resources, and energy production.

This was a textbook for a geography class, and I liked it because I enjoy maps. You can learn so much from them—modern or historical—and this atlas provided plenty of information. The class wasn’t bad either, and we made good use of this book as a resource.

What can I really say about it? It's an atlas. It's good for when you need to know or do atlas-y things.
