About the author

Brigitte Riebe is a German author of crime and feminist fiction. She writes thrillers under the pseudonym Lara Stern and lives with her husband in Munich.

After high school Brigitte Riebe studied at the University of Munich. She received a PhD based on a thesis on the development of the bourgeois woman paradigm at the turn of 18 to 19 Century. She then worked as a museum educator and later as an editor for several German publishers. In 1991 she gave up her job as a senior editor at Bertelsmann to become a writer. Since then, she has written many books books in various genres.

In 1992, Riebe published her first book, the crime novel Nix Dolci, which introduced the lawyer Sina Teufel, who became regular figure in her later works. One of the Sina Teufel-based novels was released as a movie: 'Inzest - Ein Fall für Sina Teufel (Incest - A Case for Sina Teufel) in 1996.

In addition to her detective novels Brigitte Riebe has also published several novels about modern society.

Laza kis mese.
Aki történelmi olvasmányra vágyik, az véletlenül se olvassa el, mert bár így reklámozza önmagát a kötet, ilyen felületes ismeretekkel bármely általános iskolás is rendelkezik.
Inkább macska mesének hívnám, amiért tetszett és végig olvastam, az ezért volt. Sok sok cicus, Básztet és Szahmet kettőssége kifejezetten vonza a hozzám hasonló macska mániás modern boszik figyelmét.
Az egyiptomi misztikus világ nem igen bontakozik ki a történetben, ellenben erőtlen, gyenge romantikus szálak pedzegetésével amolyan háziasszonyok egzotikus ponyvája jelleget ölt a kötet. A szereplők egyszerűek, mint a faék, kiszámíthatóak, sablonosak. A cselekmény annyira átlátszó,és lapos, hogy az ember nem érti, hogy ha az olvasó már a 15. oldalon rájött a dolog lényegére, minek kell még 233 oldalon a semmiről fecsegni?!
Környezetvédelmi okokból megvásárlását nem javallom, bár mindegy, mert a fákat már kivágták miatta.
Brigitte Riebe egyetlen pozitívuma, hogy tartott macskát, Lunát, de azt hiszem ha csak 10 percet szánt történelmi kutatásokra a Wikipédián, nem kéne történelmi regényt kerekíteni ismereteiből. Úgy gondolom ettől az írótól nem igénylek több könyvet.

Ein schönes Buch und eine interessante Geschichte. Brigitte Riebe vermittelt einen Einblick in die alte Kultur Ägyptens und wie stark doch die Katzen damals verehrt wurden. Einzig allein die Szene mit dem Katzenmord war mir dann doch zu detaliert beschrieben, so dass das Buch dann doch nur 4 von 5 Sternen bekommt.
