One of the best book if you are interested in kinship and family studies in modern society.
Key topics: urban kinship, kinship as social network, conjugal roles.

Wow! Even though this was written in 1957, I felt like the findings sounded like today. Her analysis is super clear, engaging, incorporates positionality almost seamlessly, transparent, and very easy to understand. And yet her theoretical argument is totally novel and clever.
