I thought the premise for this book was interesting - a reporter (and others) who sees ghosts and protective spirits such as angels. Other paranormal aspects that are believable if you are open to them.
The era appealed to me - 1970s with much social upheaval and attempted change.
(I admit even with all the changes, some of those battles are still being fought today)

So Says the Ratcatcher is the second story in the Rice Channon Paranormal Mystery by Dennis Anthony. I had read the first a long time ago so did have an understanding of who the Ratcatcher was. Unlike some series it didn't matter if the reader hadn't read the previous book 'Ratcatcher, Be Still' A Rice Channon Mystery.

Full disclosure, I didn't finish this book. If you are of the opinion that a review without reading the whole thing, skip this one. I generally give books 50 pages before giving up on them. I wanted to like this enough to give it another 50 pages but it just wasn't grabbing me. Since I read to escape, reading that feels like work isn't terribly enjoyable to me.
