A girl gets separated from her parents on her first trip to New York City and curls up in front of the NY Public Library. The stone lions come to life and protect her, guiding her safely back to her hotel.
A perfectly acceptable picture book, but there were a few things that were a bit off. There is something odd about the proportions of the young girl in the illustrations. It's weird--and she looks like an adult. Also, young girl lost in NYC yet no fear or panic? None of it quite fits.

The Brothers
A little girl named Hilary gets lost in New York City. She falls asleep on the lion statues outside the library and they come to life and help her find her way home, but not before romping about the city a bit showing her some of the sights.

Illustrations are okay.

My almost-four-year-old son liked this book more than I did. I grabbed it randomly at the library because I liked the illustrations. The story is cute enough, though.
