Unfortunately, this short story didn't work for me.

Chase and Nikki fall "in love" quickly, but she jumps into the wrong conclusion hard and fast, and doesn't stick around to talk about it. Cue Big Misunderstanding... Strike One! Then Chase decides not to go after Nikki for an explanation for her hasty departure, even though he's "in love" with her and knows where to find her. Cue Long Separation... Strike Two! Finally, Nikki finds out she's pregnant but decides to keep it from Chase! Cue Secret Pregnancy... Strike Three and you're out!

Dependending on the author's writing skills, all that could have worked in a full-length story... maybe. As it was, it was too much for such a short story.

The essential spontaneous sex scenes were there but the story just didn't ring true as believable. Misconstrued phone conversation leads Nikki to run from Chase, who [although his name suggests otherwise:] doesn't chase her. Why wouldn't he chase her if the sex was that good?

And her, she didn't seem to fussy when they first met and she was ready to jump on him like he was the family trampoline, so why would she get put off finding out that there may be a little-woman on the home-front.

Super quick read, with a great little story line and really likable characters. My only problem with Shelli Stevens books is that they aren't long enough!! I always want more.
