Never before in the history of the United States courts has there been a proceeding like the one in this story. After three years of building highways in Iran, Lou Crider and his three partners were forced to leave the country by a greedy Iranian bureaucrat, Abu Sadr. The bureaucrat took all of Lou’s fifteen million dollars worth of equipment. On the day of the confiscation, Lou fearlessly told Abu, “Someday, somehow, I am going to get even with you.” Back in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lou hires an attorney who goes to federal court and gets a default judgment against Abu in the sum of fifteen million dollars. In one twist of fate after another, Lou uses highly inventive means to abscond with valuable property that belonged to the Iranian. The final issue becomes whether or not the taking of the Iranian’s property was legal or criminal. The final question will be answered. Can Lou get even?
