This volume contains the first three complete cozy mysteries in London Lovett's Port Danby Cozy Mystery series. Join Lacey 'Pink' Pinkerton and the cast of colorful, lovable Port Danby characters—including the endearing and handsome Detective James Briggs—for three intriguing murder mysteries.
Marigolds and Murder (Book 1)
Lacey 'Pink' Pinkerton has left behind a six figure job and her reputation as the million dollar nose—a nickname her super sense of smell earned her within the perfume industry. With her pet crow Kingston and a tabby cat named Nevermore, she is settling right into her new life in the small coastal town of Port Danby. With a flower shop opening soon and a full cast of quirky neighbors and friends, her new digs are exactly what she's been looking for. Away from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city Lacey has found peace and happiness. However, her heightened sense of smell proves to be of use once again when a Port Danby neighbor turns up dead. Lacey finds herself caught up in an unexpected murder investigation alongside the handsome local detective, James Briggs. She’s determined to find the killer and solve the murder mystery before any more bodies turn up.
Carnations and Chaos (Book 2)
Lacey 'Pink' Pinkerton, the local flower shop owner, is thrilled to supply colorful flower arrangements for the Third Annual Food Fair being held in the Port Danby town square. But when one of the well-known but not so well-loved bloggers is found dead in her motel room, Lacey steps in to help Detective James Briggs solve the case. (Whether he likes it or not.)
Mistletoe and Mayhem (Book 3) Port Danby is preparing for the annual Harbor Holiday Lights Flotilla, and Lacey 'Pink' Pinkerton is anxious to see the colorful boats light up Pickford Beach. But the festive spirits of the town are dampened when one of the boat owners is strangled to death. Lacey enthusiastically volunteers to help Detective Briggs sniff out the clues and track down the killer. Once again, she finds herself nose deep in a murder mystery.
*Each book also contains a delicious, mouthwatering recipe that is perfect to pair with your cozy read!
I love this series. You get a wonderful and intelligent main character, with several strong secondary folks. They are all necessary to tell each tale. Lacey and her million dollar nose, serious and hunky Detective James Briggs, good looking neighbor Dash, and fellow shop owners Elsie, Lola, Franki, and Les, all add much to these well written cozies that are so much fun to read! This has become one of my favorite series. Kudos to London Lovett.
Book 1 Marigolds Lacey having earned big money, is now settle in this quaint town. Running a flower shop, and two dashing men, a neighbor and the detective. When murder happens, with her sensitive nose, she goes about looking for clues. Even though Detective Briggs, says to let them handle the case. Nice cozy mystery, and I liked the characters. Book 2 Carnations Lacey had created a beautiful bouquet for the Food Fair , which brought pleasure as she seen it the next morning opening her shop.then there was the brother and sister who had bakery’s and trying to compete in getting more customers. The fair was to have food bloggers, minus one found dead. Lacey has a sensitive nose for murder, along with a crow and a cat. Hoping to solve a murder and be welcome in this new port town. Cute story. Enjoyable series, and have read others by her.

i am easily taken over my eye appealing ... i love a great font, great illustrations, doodles ...they are just so awesome. found this on Amazon for free ... so i did grabbed it up ... i enjoy a mystery ...that is my go to genre. i am trying to recall if i have anything from London Lovett before??! sorry i am having a moment of i wonder?? did i win this in a Goodreads giveaway? it is on Kindle Unlimited. but i didn't pay for it ... i went to the receipt on Amazon ... trying to jog my memory??? so fun. great characters. i enjoyed this so so much. i will read more from London soon enough. there are plenty on KU. check LL out.
Wonderful start to a cozy mystery series. It's not full of complicated twists and turns but has it's own solvable questions. I often suspected who the murderer was relatively early, but didn't care. I enjoyed the stories all the way through.
There's a nice slow burning romance starting to flicker between Lacey and James that I hope flourishes. I will definitely be looking to continue reading this series.
I enjoy all the different characters with their little eccentricities. I really REALLY love all the humor. Keep up the good work please!
Lacey Pinkerton known to friends as Lacey or Pink is the new florist in Port Dandy. She also has hyperosmia which means that she is very sensitive to smells. She was the nose for a perfume company and drawing a six figure salary. Her mother doesn’t understand why she moved from the city to a small town and why she broke off her engagement to a millionaire (the man was a cheater). Lacey also has a pet crow called Kingmon and a cat named Nevermore. Lacey also helps the sheriff solve crimes.
I really enjoy this series. I had previously read the first book and have just finished re-reading it and reading books 2 and 3 each for the first time.
These cozy mysteries are set in the village of Port Danby, with "Pink"'s famous nose, which she uses when she lends her assistance to Detective Briggs. Lovett does a great job of portraying small town life and in making mysteries small enough to fit their setting but large enough to keep me, as a reader, puzzling.
They are a perfectly relaxing read for this mystery-lover, and I look forward to reading more of the series!
I like Lacy and the characters of Port Danby. They lend a bit more interest to the story, but Lovett could have developed more backstories with them, especially when Book 2 took 11 chapters to start the plot. However, I found I missed some important clues to solving the mystery in the 11 chapters. The plots are simple, and Book 3 was very simple to solve. I do wish the editor would correct the punctuation errors that run throughout all the books. Overall, nice stories.
This is a must read if you like cozy mysteries. The setting is a charming seaside town I’d move to. Lacey the heroine is developing her character beautifully. What is going on between the two characters Dash and Detective Briggs? When will Lacey wise up and realize that her crush detective Briggs is jealous of Dash. I am really enjoying watching these characters relationship develop. Now I have to read more to find out what is going on between these two men and when will Lacey get a kiss from the handsome Detective Briggs.
Really enjoyed this boxed set. The characters were likable and believable with some humorous moments. Story lines are good and each book can stand alone. I’ve already purchased the next boxed set; looking forward to seeing how the love interest evolves. I like this author’s writing, have read her Firefly series (first 6 books) and look forward to more. If you like Cozy mysteries, you can’t go wrong with this author.
All these mysteries are fast paced and full of characters that come to life. While Lacey drives the story line, with her extraordinary sense of smell providing many of the clues, there are plenty of clues for the reader to pick up on along the way. Although some of the smell clues seem a little far-fetched, at least this “heroine” doesn’t go off half-cocked and make foolish choices that land her in danger. Highly entertaining!
Finally a heroine that I can get behind 100%. She's smart, charming, witty, works with the police (rather than against them), and she doesn't put herself in peril constantly. I also love that the main characters actually solve mysteries/crimes by piecing clues together--rather than by accident. I HIGHLY recommend this series.
FYI: You will not find a crude or offensive word, neither a salacious scene in this series. I wish all cozy mysteries were as clever and clean as this one.
A light-hearted, sweet murder/romance mystery series along the lines of the old TV series “Murder She Wrote”; definitely lacking the depth of an Agatha Christie, but with enough twists to keep the interest up, with the added benefit of humor. Recommended to anyone who loves a good mystery but needs a break from the brain-drain of the heavy duty writers.
This box set is perfect for curling up with a cup of hot chocolate, tea, or a glass of wine and reading on the couch. Beautifully written! Will make you feel like you are in Port Danby every step of the way. The mysteries are wonderfully crafted without being too obvious or heavy. Wonderful twists to keep you interested! And the characters! What personalities. I wanted to keep reading just to see where the author went with their story lines next. Ready to buy the rest so I can keep on going. PS: the end of each book has a gift! I am going to try them all ;)
Never figured out the killer early in any story. The characters are all well rounded, real and pretty likeable. The stories are fast paced but tight. The only thing that was a minor annoyance was the scene descriptions were occasionally too long, but that's just me.
I enjoyed the books, as I like mysteries. The little was interesting, as well as the characters in the stories. I could almost see the crow and enjoyed his antics. I liked the cat as well. I also liked the fact that “Pink” set out to make a new life for herself and use a God-given talent to help others.
Good reason to have a untrained women help trained policemen. Detective Briggs and and Lacey "Pink" Pinkerton, team up to solve mysteries. Her million dollar nose, was wonderful in the perfume industry, but detecting odors near a dead body, she can almost sniff out the murder weapon. Read and enjoy!
The people in Port Danby are the typical small town regulars in cozy mysteries. All have quirks but rub together we'll. Pink with her million dollar nose, sibling rivalry and deep animosity between the two most eligible bachelors in town lead to amusing situations while solving murders. Great fun.
Despite the fact that I download tons of cozy mysteries (I'm a sucker for the covers), they are not my favorite genre. However, London Lovett's stories are terrific. Interesting characters and plot lines. Not so many characters that it becomes difficult to keep them straight. Great box set.
A lovely series. One falls in love with Lacey with her nose and the other Port Danby people. And at the end of 3 books there are still mysteries to be cleared - like the mystery of Dash and the Detective, the Hawksworth Mansion. Well researched, funny and fast paced cozy mysteries!
I’m a new London Lovett fan! Port Danby as described speaks to my sea loving, beach adoring heart. Add in a murder mystery, or three in this box set, AND a historic mystery! Well, you have a fan for life. If any of those subjects tickle your senses, then you will definitely enjoy these books. Join me as we continue to unravel mysteries and sweet treats!
Good easy read mysteries with a little romance throw in. Good story plots with easy to follow logical thoughts. Enjoyed the recipes being included. Can’t wait to try them this fall! And can’t wait to read the next book to see where the romance might go.
Every good mystery series has a quirk, some special character or quality that ties the series together. In this series it's an enhanced sense of smell. Makes for some interesting detecting.
Really enjoyed all three books in the boxed set. Can’t wait to read more about the characters and their adventures. Also hope to further hear about the secondary mystery thread about the Hawksworth family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series of books. They are fast moving and entertaining. I like Lacey Pink and her million dollar nose. if you like mysteries, you will like these Port Danby Cozy books.
Delightful! While having the ingredients of many a cozy mystery series, this stands out in that Det. Briggs actually wants Pink's assistance. Plenty of sexual tension, numerous chuckles, great characters...I loved it, and want to read more.
This mystery series has interesting twists due to a highly sensitive nose. The characters interact well with each other and will have you chuckling as you read. On to book 4!
Could not put it down. Quick witted, some humour and good mystery. Characters are very believable and the mystery hard to guess till the very end. Looking forward to more.
I enjoyed all three of these stories and thought they were very well constructed stories. At times it was easy to figure out the major culprit, but it was.still fun seeing how Lacey sniffed out the clues. It was very casual reading and didn't require a great deal of effort to read.
I have found a new favorite author. This series has all the elements of the perfect cozy mystery: humor, intrigue, romance, and just enough description to make you feel a part of the story. I would highly recommend this series.
