Nearly 500 years after the Protestant Reformation, the gulf that once separated Roman Catholics and evangelicals seems to be shrinking. As we unite to battle our common enemy, secular humanism, we find ourselves on the same side of many theological issues. Armstrong presents a fascinating study of Catholic doctrines and practices, carefully weighing each in the balance of Scripture.
I thought this slim book was an excellent elucidation of the differences and similarities between the Roman Catholic and Protestant evangelical denominations. It gives a good history and traces back many Catholic traditions to their origins and also the roots of the Reformation and what exactly they were disputing with the Roman church at that time.
Anyone interested in the history and arguments for and against the different doctrines will find this book a source of interest.
