Aden aged out of Florida’s foster care system. He built a life, bought a house…and fell in love with Niall, a blue-eyed Irish Dom who owned his heart. When Niall got a job in California, he took Aden’s heart with him.
Niall regretted his move, but thought Aden would follow. Five years later, Niall’s back and wants to reclaim what’s his—Aden. He doesn’t expect to run into Aden while teaching erotic hypnosis at a fetish convention. He wasn’t expecting Aden to have gorgeous Etsu on his arm. He damn sure wasn’t expecting to save Etsu’s life in a malfunctioning elevator.
Etsu grew up smothered by a crazy-overprotective family and her asthma. With Aden, she can finally be herself. She can’t help fantasizing about Niall and Aden together, or how sexy it’d be writhing in pleasure between them. The question is, can they make this work, or will her family succeed yet again in driving away her chance at happiness?

There is so much going on in this story and I don't want to give a lot away so I'll just say that I loved Naill, Aden and Etsu. Naill and Aden were together for awhile but when Naill left, Aden was shattered. He eventually picked himself up and started a relationship with Etsu. 5 years later, Naill comes back and discovers Aden and Etsu together! When Naill basically saves Etsu's life after a bad elevator incident, things heat up between the three characters. I totally loved the story and the characters were great. Both of the guys take care of Etsu who has medical problems and family problems. I started reading the book and by the time I finished it, it was 2:00am. That's how good this book was. Tymber just draws you into the story and you get so caught up in it, you can't put it down. I'm really hoping we get to see more of these characters in future books.
Is this Cardinal Rule all over again? One of the first books I read by Ms. Dalton broke my heart. One of the first books in the series, a love story all twisted and angst-filled just about killed me. When a beloved Dom leaves a submissive with little notice, it is painful. Fortunately, in this story, there is no abrupt departure in the middle of the night.
Aden is a man who loved his Dom, Niall, with all his heart. It wasn't enough to keep Niall with him when Niall is offered a job in California, just as Aden starts to build a stable life for them. It is sad to see how jobs can tear lovers apart as there is no way for Aden to uproot himself after wanting to put down roots for years. This is a very important piece for Aden because as an orphan, he had no family or place to call home. Loving Niall and gaining a father from Niall's family is more than Aden could have hoped for, so when the break has to occur, it's like losing a piece of himself.
It is clear both men still have feelings for each other. Long distance did not work for them as it does not for most. Aden finally moves on to be with a woman, Etsu. Life looks to be good except from Etsu's crazy overly protective family. The antics of her family are heinous and outrageous. I'm horrified by what they do and how malicious they are to Etsu's boyfriends. How they treat Etsu is beyond comprehension. It's good to see how Aden is able to deflect and let it roll off his back. When Niall returns back to Florida, this is when the story grows in heat.
I loved the relationship dynamics between these three characters. Together, the three of them complete each other in ways that Etsu's family will never appreciate nor understand. This is their loss. Aden's submission to Niall is smoking hawt. His dominance over Etsu is so sweet. When the three of them get together, it is panty-moistening goodness. The kinky scenes in here are fantastic and a dream to witness. The bonds these three form make this love story engaging and memorable. This erotic romance is highly recommended to kinky ménage lovers.
Book #66, Suncoast Society series. Tymber Dalton strikes a chord that will leave you entranced and spellbound from the first page!
Leaving Sarasota and moving to California is the biggest mistake Niall Renard's ever made. He felt there wasn't a choice. Crippling student loans left him in an never ending loop of debt. His biggest regret? Leaving Aden Lopez behind. Soul mates from the beginning, Aden had just begun to find stability for the first time. He's not willing to chance losing what he's worked so hard to build. Although it leaves a soul-deep fracture in their hearts, Niall releases Aden and walks out of his life. Fast forward five years. Niall's finally come to his senses. Yes, moving to California erased his student debt. But at what cost? There's an Aden-sized hole in his heart. When Niall agrees to teach erotic hypnosis at a fetish convention in Tampa, he could never know it would totally upend his life. Over the past five years, Aden's never stopped loving Niall. But he's moved on. Etsu Faulk has worked her way into his heart. There's no doubt he loves her. Their BDSM dynamic is unique, fulfills both. There's just one problem, Etsu's overprotective, judgmental family. They've destroyed every relationship Etsu's ever had. When Aden surprises Etsu with tickets to the fetish convention in Tampa, both will find their lives forever changed. As Niall, Aden, and Etsu cross paths, a life-threatening event terrorizes Etsu and Aden. It's Niall who saves her life. Aden's grateful, but he's also angry, resentful, and confused. He's never hidden his past from Etsu, nor has he kept his ongoing love for Niall a secret. But for Niall to show up and expect them to pick up where they left off? No! Unthinkable! As Aden's heart is torn in two, what can he do? He loves Etsu. To abandon her is unimaginable. But his love and devotion to Niall is as strong as ever. Conflicted? Oh, yes! When Niall comes up with a possible solution, it's beyond belief! Aden thinks Niall's lost his mind. But sometimes it takes a gigantic leap of faith, holding onto every shred of hope, and embracing the impossible to make dreams come true. When Etsu's life and happiness are threatened again, it's Niall who again saves her. The obstacles in their path seem insurmountable. Can Aden forgive Niall? Will he let him back into his life? What of Etsu? Aden can't abandon her especially when she needs him most. The answer is right in front of them. It's evident to everyone around them. Are they too blind to see it? Can they reach beyond the past, reach for the future? Or will all three lives be splintered into shards that can never be repaired?
The heartache, broken trust, new beginnings, and the limitless possibilities in Empty-Handed Heart are riveting. Aden, Niall, and Etsu will pull you in and break your heart. Niall and Aden's past and present collide in explosive ways with Etsu caught squarely in the middle. The tension, devastation, and regrets radiate off the pages and hit me full force. Niall's focus on his goals and his apparent selfishness pull him and Aden apart in heartrending ways. Etsu is the glue that mends Aden's shattered soul. But these characters' willingness to embrace uncertainty, go after what they want, regardless of the odds against them, are truly inspiring! From the beginning, Niall puts his goals above everything else. Aden and Etsu demonstrate every aspect of the BDSM lifestyle: the infinite variety, nuances, and intrinsic beauty. But it's the compelling understanding of not just the BDSM world but of people, how events mold life choices, and the healing power of forgiveness that make this story so compelling. This story's intensity captivated me. Ms. Dalton always demonstrates an intuitive understanding of life. It's often cruel, mercilessness, and painful. But, as always, Ms. Dalton shows that love freely given allows people to rise above everything, forgive, transcend the pain. Congratulations, Ms. Dalton, on yet another absolutely stunning story. Empty-Handed Heart deserves nothing less than five stars!
One final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and BDSM sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this book may not be for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and all booksellers' websites. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author! She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
This was book 66 in the "Suncoast Society" series. Aden aged out of Florida's foster care system. He built a life, bought a house...and fell in love with Niall, a blue-eyed Irish Dom who owned his heart. When Niall got a job in California, he took Aden's heart with him. Niall regretted leaving Aden he had hoped he would follow him to California but he didn't. Aden who is bi has moved on although he still loves Niall. Etsu grew up smothered by a crazy-overprotective family and her asthma and panic disorder she has been with Aden for six months he is her master and when Aden meets her family they are not nice to him. This was a good read by one of my favorite go to authors. While at a kink convention Aden comes face to face with Niall who hasn't moved on he was teaching a class while stuck in a elevator these two get hot and heavy each one feels guilt as they do it again in Niall's room. Estu who gave Aden a pass to be with Niall who she thought was named Ren these three has some hot sex. This was a good read and I was glad that Estu stood up to her family who was trying to control her life. I also liked that Aden for have Niall for leaving him. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
This is a love story. This is a soulmate story. This is a ménage story. Aden and Niall fell in love, with Niall as the Master. Then they parted five years ago because Niall wanted a better paying job and moved from Florida to California. It was on good terms, with tears and goodbye lovemaking. Niall didn’t have another relationship and had hoped Aden would follow him. Aden didn’t because he finally owned his own home and had some security in his life. 6 months ago Aden, being bisexual, started dating Etsu and became her Sir. He was honest with her about still being in love with “Ren”- The name he gave Niall in order to protect his privacy. Etsu gives him a hall pass with Ren, but Aden never thinks that would happen. Etsu’s family is extremely oppressive with her. She is the youngest of 4 and the only female. She has extreme asthma and has been hospitalized a few times because of it. Her family drive so if any boyfriend that she has brought home to meet them. The story goes on from there with Niall moving back to Florida, seeing Aden and Etsu at a convention, saving her life and seeing if they can make a ménage work with him as the Dominant. We get to see how the three handle each other, friends and Etsu’s family. Although the sex was hot, I’m glad this was more of a love story to me. Ms Dalton has a way of relaying emotions straight into my mind and heart. This is a great story and I am waiting for the next in the series.
In this book we meet Aden, Etsu, and Niall. We learn of the history between Aden and Niall. Aden had just bought a house and Niall who wanted to take a job, which paid more and would let him pay off his studen loans faster. Unfortunately that took him across the country. Aden then meets Etsu and they start to fall in love. Re-enter Niall who comes back after a number of years. He wants Aden back. What will happen between the three? Niall helps to save Etsu from her asthma and panic attack. Will they make a happy family of three or will this tear them apart? And lets not forget Etsu’s family are not the nicest. I read this in one sitting. I hope to see more of these characters in future books.
Wow, I can’t believe that this series is all the way up to number 66. As some of you may know, I don’t read the M/M books, (It’s just not my kink) but, I’ll read MMF books as long as the female has an equal stake. Tymber has always been fair to everyone in her books and let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to live in the Suncoast world? (Riiight?) This one features switch Aden, who is a physical therapist with a great job and a PhD. He has a girlfriend Etsu, who he tops. But she has anxiety and severe asthma, nevermind probably the WORST helicopter family in history. But Aden is missing his old master and boyfriend, Niall. Imagine his surprise when he runs into him at a kink convention, and he saves Etsu’s life while they are trapped in an elevator. But the Irish Dom is back for a reason, and that reason is Aden. I’ll admit, I was a tad bit upset with both Aden and Niall for the “Elevator” and what happened after. I was even ranting to my own Sir. Not. Happy. But Tymber made it all work out in the end, as she usually does. Thus explaining why I’m still gushing over how much I love this series and Tymber as a writer after 66 of these books. Simply amazing.
For me this book was about the choices a person makes and how living with them can either make you stronger or break you apart. For Etsu, dealing with her overprotective parents and brothers has made her life tougher than it already is. Her boyfriend Aden is the first one to stick around. Aden had a rough start as a child but has made a wonderful life for himself even though a part of him is missing. Niall went out to California to advance his career but is now back in Florida after realizing that the price for that decision was too high. How these three people come together and create new choices out of the past makes for an amazing book! This book is part of the Suncoast Society series but can be read as a stand alone.
What do you do if the love of your life returns back home after 5 years? To make it more complicated, you also love this woman you're dating for a couple of months.
What do you do if you see the love of your life with someone else, a woman even? Do you let him go?
And what do you do if the love of your life sees his other love back after 5 years? Do you let him go?
Add an overly protection family with several siblings and they get a bit crazy when there is a boyfriend.
Add an elevator to the story and things can go up or down...
I love it seems fate has brought these people together at just the right time. I love the way they fit together. The elevator scenes are very attention grabbing. It is always interesting to see when people have a history and after a time of separation are brought back together. It is a dance to merge new lives with old. This story did a great job of sharing their experience.
I have to admit... when Niall came back on the scene, I was a little angry with him thinking he could just do what he did and think it was ok! But I live the way the story played out.
What a fun second chance story. Etsu's family issues are common there really wasnt a lot of communication with them. Hope that Kate finds someone for her. Niall and Aden are something else for sure, loved Etsus choice from the implement bag, too much fun
I love this triad and how they came together. I am not going to talk about that because spoilers. The scene where Etsu was having an allergy induced asthma attack is right out of my nightmares. I also suffer from allergy induced asthma. People can be so clueless about this. Even after being told to stay away because they are triggering the attack with what they are wearing they keep getting closer until in a panic usually you have to cause a scene to protect yourself. Tymber Dalton is an expert at writing characters with some degree of disability realisticly.
Got to a convention with a friend and get trapped in an elevator one time and she puts it into a book. Granted the scene in this book was so so so much better than the real experience. The chemistry between the three is off the charts. A great reunion story add in a new relationship plus an established one and you are smoking.
Another great tale from the amazing master of kink Tymber staring a return of the Irish man who broke his heart helping to make a woman strong enough to face her health and break away from her overbearing family, showing how great poly relationship's can be
