Zoom to the Moon is part of a Phonics Reading Program, Nick Jr. & Dora the Explorer ~ Pack 2 ~ Book 4. by Quinlan B. Lee: I used this as a simple reader when I worked in a summer program for helping children that were having difficulty with reading to grade level. The basic of the program was another phonics system and this was an addition to practice oral reading skills for the sounds covered each day. The story challenges students to sound out the long "oo" sound.

The two programs worked well together, with the other one being the basic program because it covered more phonetic sounds with lots of exercises to practice them. The Dora series help to give the students practice using the sounds when reading.

I was a little disappointed in the number of long oo's in this book. I expected more.
