I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book. I feel like the characters and story weren't developed as much as it could have been. There were moments of eye rolling, unnecessary fillers and a few times I almost stopped reading. There was something missing for me and the book ended up just being okay.

Decent debut novel
An interesting story. The writing is filled with cliche scenarios, and changes tenses and perspectives randomly. Most of the problems with the reading come from lack of an editor, and the overall foundation is still good and engaging. I would have liked a bit more depth, with story and character development, but overall a decent debut novel. I look forward to continuing to follow and watch the author's growth.

Join her heroine in her quest to find her imprisoned parents and friend. There is something for everyone in THE PROTECTORS. I think adventure-seeking readers will enjoy this work.

A girl discovers at the age of 18 some life-changing facts not only about herself but also about the world she lives in and a breathtakingly fast, dangerous and romantic series of event ensues. Very recommendable for fantasy fans who want to try something slightly different for a change. Hope that this becomes a series!
