Lindsay Marie Miller was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, where she graduated from high school as Valedictorian. At sixteen, she started writing her first novel after being inspired by Stephenie Meyer's International Bestselling Twilight Saga.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University, she put her B.A. in English Literature to good use and published her debut novel, Emerald Green.

en I look for a book to read, I always look at the synopsis as an indication of whether or not it would be something that I would think may rock my boat. When I read the synopsis for S.I.N.G.L.E, I have to be honest, the name of the book itself caught my eye. Lindsay Marie Miller did a great job in creating a title that is so eye-catching that the reader has no choice but want to read her novel. I mean come on, who doesn’t want to read a book that is S.I.N.G.L.E and also stands for Still In Need of a Good Loving Equivalent.

When we meet Jessica Jacobs, the young heroine of the book readers cannot help but sympathize with her and her disastrous adventures. When Jessica and Sara make a valentines pack to swear off men, readers are able to guess where this is going to lead. Once Jessica encounters cute but yet incredibly charming Graham you cannot help but root for the two to get together.

Initially, I was struggling to find out why Jessica was so afraid to date and found myself getting quite angry with her and the way she was treating Graham. When Miller delves more into the background of Jessica and what her fears are, it seems rational on why she was hell bent to stay away from dating and especially a man like Graham. Miller does a good job in creating a storyline that readers want to continue to read about, two characters who have this obvious connection and the ability to create a good dose of romance.

Single: A New Adult Romantic Comedy (Love in Seattle Book 1) by Lindsay Marie Miller is the first book in her Love in Seattle series. This book can be read as a standalone and is a new adult romance story. I have read quite a few of this author's books, I believe this is one of my favorites of hers. Her writing style is so free flowing and her story is well written. Her characters will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that you won't be able to get enough of. They are both lovable and connectable. This is the story of Jessie and her boycott of men that just may backfire on her. Jessie is majoring in finance. She has had a few blind dates that have helped her remain single. When her best friend gets dumped by her boyfriend on Valentine's Day, they create a pact to boycott men for the rest of the semester. Then she meets Graham. Problem is the pact she made and the fact that she finds herself attracted to him. She tries to be a little cold to him but that seems to make him want her more. She is faced with a choice. Will embrace her fear around her heart or will she take the chance of losing the only man who would never break it? I enjoyed both of these characters. They have such great chemistry and attraction. They really do just belong together. I felt bad for Jessie because she made this pact but yet she is faced with a choice that could hurt either way. Graham is the sexy book boyfriend in this book. He is determined that he gets Jessie and the more she pushes him away the more he wants her. He has his own issues with relationships but when they keep running into one another maybe fate has something to do with it. I found myself hoping that these two would get their happy ending but you will have to read this book to find out. The secondary characters in this book are both supportive and no so supportive because they are jerks. But they do make this story flow and you always have to have jerks when it comes to romance stories. I highly recommend this book. Find out what fate has in store for Jessie and Graham.

Review:

This is the first book that I have read from this author. It was an interesting book with an good plot.
I really liked this story. Two roommates make a pact to give up on men until their college graduation. The best laid plans go astray when Sara promptly breaks the pact to date a guy that she met at the gym. Sara gets Jessie to double date with her, Jessie is faced with the great looking guy that smells so good. Call it fate, but these two couples are headed for love, that is if they can all get over their past.
Great plot, wild chemistry, good pacing with humor, an ending that surprised me and insightful character development.

If you are going to look for a new to you author and are browsing the amazon ebooks/books section this is one that you MUST pick up!! This was my first book by this author and it will not be my last! She writes an amazing story with this one - before you realize it you are just about 3/4 of the way through the book, with total disregard to the world around you. I started this book in the morning and by mid afternoon I had devoured it! It was that good!

Miller's characters are real, they are flawed and they are everyday people that you could meet anywhere! They are likable, relatable and fun. Jessie and Sara are best friends and room mates and they make a pact that they will stay away from guys for the rest of the school semester. Enter Graham and Sean and that pact flies out the window (with much drama from all of them). The plot is quick moving, smooth, quick and fun and the reader becomes a part of the story! The flow is so quick that you don't even realize how much time has passed and there is literally no stopping point for a break!

The author uses sarcasm, the banter is on point and the dynamics of the characters jump off of the pages. The reader literally feels like they are a part of the book, the characters lives and the outcome of the story. It is well written and it is amazing! If you haven't read anything by this author, Don't wait! Start one of her books today and you will soon be adding all of them to your TBR list! I already have 2 more by this author waiting for me on my kindle! Do yourself a favor and add her to your must read list - you won't be sorry!!

S.I.N.G.L.E. (Still In Need of a Good Loving Equivalent) by Lindsay Marie Miller is a first time read for me. so I went into this book expecting to like it, but I actually really loved it. It was sexy, engaging, humorous, dramatic, perfect and flawed. Not only was I invested in the story but I felt a personal connection to the characters. I think Lindsay Marie Miller did an awesome job writing this book. S.I.N.G.L.E. This was such a great story about two people who were convinced that they were broken beyond repair, who thought that love just wasn’t for them, but when each was least expecting it, or even wanting it, they find something so special in each other, and it turns out to be exactly what they both needed. I would definitely place this as one of my top reads. This was a beautifully written romance. and it highly recommend picking up a copy today.

This book is a lovely story that follows Jessie and Graham and how fate REALLY seems to want them together.
Jessie is extremely unlucky in love and after her best friend gets her heart broken, they decide to make a pact... No boys, no men, no guys until after graduation. With Jessie's past of a father that left with no contact and a mother that's a gold digger, and grandparents that have passed on, her life is all heart brake and hurt. She has trained herself never to open her heart... Until she runs into Graham, literally!!!
Graham is a good guy, with a body of a god and a huge heart, when Jessie runs into him then again and again then again, it seems that no matter what Jessie has decided... Fate and Graham have compleately different plans!
I admit i wanted to shake hell out of Jessie during most of this book, or maybe even slap her and say... Wake up and open your damn eyes woman!!! As the story grows along with feelings, this really does turn into a sweet read. But if your looking for hot bedroom scenes, it does fall short! Although as their backgrounds unfold, it is a magical light and happy story with just the right kind of HEA... Beautiful!!!

This was the first book I have read by Lindsay Marie Miller. It did not disappoint. Jessie and Sara are two best friends and when Sara goes through a break up they make a pact. It would be my luck that I would make a similar one to help a friend and then temptation appears.

Sean and Graham are cousins and double dates would be fun. They seem like the perfect men.

I would want someone like Sean or Graham because even though they are dealing with girls that have rough pasts, they still seem perfect. I don't know too many men that would go to the extent both of them go. They seem like they are raised well. I hope that my son will treat his girlfriend or someone he has an interest in like they do. Not too many people will go to such great lengths to ensure your happiness.

This is rather appalling, but I read SINGLE more than a year and a half ago (eek!) and I'm just getting to reviewing it now. I was pregnant with my youngest, who is now 17 months old, and my husband was away on a trip. I always have trouble sleeping when he's away so I read this book in one or two nights late into the night, and I really enjoyed it (despite the cover, which I hadn't seen, and usually is not the kind of book I tend to pick up).

Basically, Jessie is a single college senior who makes a pact with her roommate not to date for the rest of the semester and then BAM! meets the love of her life the next day. The rest of the story is sort of a typical back-and-forth, will they-won't they get together kind of love story and not what I usually read. I know, ringing endorsement here, right?

The thing is, it's not the story in and of itself that won me over with this book, but rather the depth of the characters. I had reviewed another of Lindsay Marie Miller's books, Jungle Eyes, and it left me sort of ambivalent. This was totally different - reading SINGLE made me want to read more of what Lindsay writes. The depth and complexity of her writing greatly increased and I thought the characters were perfect: both Jessie and Graham are truly college students. Now, I met my husband freshman of year of college and we married right after graduation (we were engaged by the time Jessie and Graham meet!) so I'm not knocking college students and their love lives :) But Jessie and Graham and the unique challenges they face due to their state in life were perfectly written. I could identify with Jessie (when thinking back to my younger self), and I think Lindsay is almost completely on the mark in her attempt to write Graham as the "ideal" boyfriend/partner (as she states in her introduction).

I do remember thinking that Lindsay's introduction had more feeling than the book itself, but that the story as a whole showed a great improvement in her writing and made me want to read more of her work. I appreciated that the sex scenes (there's A LOT of sex) were not explicit, which I think was also appropriate for the story.

I also remember thinking that a high-school-aged me would have pined after Graham as "the" perfect boyfriend, but that reading the book I felt no such yearning but rather a certainty that I have my perfect partner: I married him almost twelve years ago.

Four stars!

Single : A New Adult Romantic Comedy  (Love In Seattle Book 1 ) by Lindsay Marie Miller  is the first book in her Love in Seattle Series.Ive read several books by Lindsay Marie Miller and must say she's quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.  I've enjoyed every single book I've ever read by her this one is no different. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. I  like her style of writing and her ability to grab your attention from the beginning and keep it till the end. Her characters are all amazing and loveable, they seem very real and makes you feel like your right along with them. This is the story about Jessie. Jessie is boycotting men but does this plan backfire? Jesse's had a couple of blind dates and these dates have helped her continue to stay single.After her best friend gets dumped they make a pact to boycott men for the rest of the semester. Then Enters Graham,one problem though this stinking pact and the fact she is attracted to him.As much as she tries to be cold to him  that seems to make him want her more. Know she has a choice to make,what will she do?Does she take a chance on him and possibly end up broken hearted?These two pulled at my heart  they truly do belong together  but this pact her and her friend made .What choice foes she cjhoose,friend and pact or Graham? These two each have their issues with relationship can they together get past them!I highly recommend this book especially if you want to know how they end up? I also can't wait to see what this author comes out with next.

Single by Lindsay Marie Miller is my favorite book by this author. This book had everything you need for a great page turner. Happiness, sadness, hotness and people with emotional pasts.

Graham has had a few rough years. He has secrets just like everyone else.

Jessie has been dealt with a mother and a father that are just a mess. Jessie also has major trust issues after witnessing her mother and fathers marriage.

Jessie decides her and her best friend Sara will go on a no man, no boyfriend, no guy pact until graduation which is a few months away.

Of course right after they both agree to the pact, Jessie meets Graham. She keeps running into him and he keeps trying to get her to agree to a date with him but she doesn't give in.

Sara breaks the pact so quickly once she meets Sean. Jessie seems to stick to the pact and stay away from guys until somehow the choice is taken away from. Sara begs and pleads with Jessie to come on a double date with her. Sara is going on a date with Sean who will bring his cousin which means Jessie is pretty much forced to go on a blind date.

Jessie's trust issues really annoyed me throughout the book. She was constantly running and it was just annoying.

I loved Ella. That was a sweet chapter. And I knew Ella was going to spill the beans...haha
This book was such a great read. I'm almost sad I've finished it. Because it was fairly long, I looked forward to coming home every night and cuddling up on the couch with a cup of coffee and my kindle.

Definitely a book you don't want to miss out on.

Jessie Jacobs has never really been in a relationship. She’s constantly going on blind dates her best friend Sara sets up for her. When Sara gets her heart broken, Jessie finds this the perfect time for a pact between the two boycotting all guys. Of course, just after making the pact with Sara, Jessie meets Graham and of course he’s perfect. She finds herself instantly drawn to him but she can’t break the pact so she remains distant.

Graham knows what he wants and he wants Jessie. He doesn’t understand why he is so distant with him and why she won’t tell him. Graham and Jessie keep running into each other as fate would allow and Jessie tries harder each time not to let her walls down.

By coincidence, Jessie and Graham end up on a date together. Jessie no longer wants to keep her walls up but she’s terrified that Graham will break her heart given the chance. Will Jessie let Graham in? Will Graham prove to her he is worth breaking the pact for?

This book had my attention the minute I started reading it. I couldn’t put it down! Graham really tugs on your heart strings and I was honestly getting a little mad at Jessie. Not only is there love but there’s laughs! Jessie and the demon washer had me laughing so hard people were looking at me funny! This book is so well rounded and it was fun to watch the characters grow and really get to the heart of the matter. I absolutely recommend this book!

Another home run book by one of my favorite authors!! Single (Love in Seattle, #1) by Lindsay Marie Miller is fantastic.
I love a good romantic comedy and this is one of my favorites. I am very familiar with Ms. Miller's work and she always keeps me coming back for more.
Jessie makes a pact to swear off men with her best friend Sam, but wouldn't you know it Mr. Right strolls into her life. This story is about Jessie and Graham trying to find love. Graham is open to the possibility of love, but Jessie has other ideas. Can Graham's persistence pay off or will he forever be pining after Jessie? Will Jessie risk her heart and break her pact with Sam to finally get her happily ever after? You will just have to read to find out how their story evolves and ends.
Jessie, Graham, and Sam are such enjoyable characters to read about. They are so realistic and relatable. I love the emotion in this book and found myself laughing out loud several times. A few times I felt my heart aching for Jessie because of her insecurities. I read this book in one sitting because I could not put it down. That is my favorite type of book no matter the genre that grabs your attention and doesn't let go.
I am secretly hoping for Sam to get her own story! I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Jessie and Sarah are best friends and nothing could come between them they go to the same college they live together so when Sarah comes home and she tells Jessie that jase has dumped for another women named Natalie so Jessie comes up with a plan she makes a pact with Sarah to stay single until they graduate which is 4months away. When Jessie goes out for a run she gets coffee thrown at her by some guys in a suv, a mystery man called Graham came to her rescue but all she could think about is the single pact and with her trust history she will make sure not to get to close to any man. But when Sara comes and says she has met a man is it rebound or will everything fall into place for Sarah and Jessie

I am not going to give anything away as the emotions and secrets that come out from this book are amazing it will make you laugh at parts it will make you tear up at certain parts I am giving this book 5/5 I was captivated by the whole book I can’t wait to see if there is book 2

Single by Lindsay Marie Miller is the first book in her Love in Seattle series, and it was a great kick starter for a new series. Single follows the story of Jessie and Graham, where fate keeps running these two into each other, and yet Jessie tried to fight it off for quite awhile, while Graham was more than head over heels into the relationship. When they are set up on a blind date, Graham is loving how opposite he is from Jessie and yet those differences only make the similarities that much brighter. The only down side to this story was the backstory on Jessie, her family does come with a price tag and at times they did put a bit of a damper on the story. Other than that the story flowed beautifully, the characters were great to get to know, and the sex was extra steamy, and extra HOT! Miller is a familiar author to me, I have read just about everything that she has brought to the reader world, and I have yet to be disappointed. I totally recommend this book for the one of kind guy named Graham and the love story that he is in with Jessie. The fact that this is a part of a new series is just a bonus!

Single by Lindsay Marie Miller is the first book in her Love In Seattle series. I can easily be read as a stand-alone and is a great start to what I know will be another successful series by this author.

Jessie has sworn off men. After a few bad dating experiences she is fed up. And when her best friend gets dumped it is enough to make Jessie swear off mean entirely. She doesn’t need them so what harm could here be in agreeing to stay away from them for the rest of the semester? Surely none. Only as soon as she makes the pact she meets Graham.
Still Jessie is determined to stick by the pact she made. Except Graham makes it as difficult as he can by chasing her and pushing for more. Can Jessie hold out? Or will Graham really be her one?

I loved this book and these characters even more than I have loved Lindsay’s other books. I was sucked into their story really easily and enjoyed being part of their journey. I also liked that, although a different series, the writing style that I like from this author was still very much evident, it hadn’t been lost in the creation of a new story. Another great book.

Single by Lindsay Marie Miller is the first book in her Love in Seattle series. This romance read is full of detail, drama, friendship and plenty of emotion. This isn't my first book of Lindsay's as I always really enjoy her stories, this storyline flows really well, and the characters interactions seem real and natural.

Single is more than a romance story, it's a story about trust, learning to trust yourself, your instincts, and others. This story follows Jessie and Graham, Jessie is a young woman who has made a pact with her best friend to take a break from men and relationships. Only it's hard to follow a pact when fate seems to be interfering. She and Graham are constantly running into each other. Their relationship develops really quickly, filled with lots of steamy moments, arguments, and lots of drama. Their story constantly had me guessing on how it was all going to play out. And I'll admit that I really enjoyed the ending!

I look forward to following their story in Lindsay's book Married.

I had high hopes for this story since I have read a few of LMM’s other books. And of course she didn’t let me down. Good story. Would have been a great story if the main characters, Graham and Jessie, had a (Better) relationship outside of the bedroom. In the bedroom, these two were on fire. LMM did a great job of leading us to the bedroom scene and letting our imaginations take over. I would be interested in reading Graham’s side of this story.

The tone through most of this book makes me feel like something bad is going to happen, something that can’t be fixed. I was anxious most of the time…waiting. Yes Jessie had a bad childhood but it wasn’t devastating enough, at least to me, for her to be SO untrusting.

Overall I really did like this story. Graham is sweet and forgiving, Jessie is smart and just wants someone to love her, someone that will stay. Even the best friends, Sean and Sara are fun to read about. (Will they get their own story?)

This story has me stalk…err… following Miller to see what and who is next!! I can definitely recommend this story and author.

I have read quite a few books from this author now and I love that fact that she is able to write more than one genre and write it so well. I really enjoyed this book, I thought it was really well written and the pace was good. No matter what genre Lindsay Marie Miller is writing her characters are always well thought out and I likeable. I really liked the sound of the blurb of this book and I wasn’t disappointed at all. I thought Jessie was a great character, although she made a pact with her friend Sarah I think it was obvious once she met Graham how hard it was going to be to resist him! I’m not sure I could have!!! He was one perfect book boyfriend! I actually really felt for Jessie, she’s torn between loyalty to her friend and opening her heart to someone who is pretty much perfect for her.
I think this is definitely one of my favourite reads by this author and I absolutely recommend it!

Single: A New Adult Romantic Comedy (Love in Seattle Book 1) by Lindsay Marie Miller is a story that had me on roller coaster of emotions from laughing so hard I couldn't stop to feeling all the emotions the main characters felt. Jessi has just made a packed with her best friend no more boys until they graduate and she's feeling good about this decision until she meets Graham who's decided he wants her and he's not taking no for an answer. These two go on quiet the roller coaster ride but can they learn to trust each other and let go of the past? I loved this book and plan on reading it over again, each character is complex and relatable making it feel like you actually know these people. Jessi and Graham each grow a bit in the story and it's fun to watch. The storyline was well written and I was hooked from page one. I'm a fan of this author and once again she didn't disappoint with her writing. I'm giving this one five stars and can't wait for more.

Single is the first book in the Love in Seattle series by Lindsay Miller and I LOVED it!

I loved Jesse from the get go. She has put herself on a dating hiatus. Too many bad experiences that she just needs a break. When her best friend gets dumped on Valentine's Day, of all days, they make a promise to take a break from dating. Things looked promising until Graham entered the picture. She tries her hardest to push him away but the more she pushed the more he wants her. He's not the type of guy who wants to break her heart but to heal her instead. Jesse is faced with the choice of finally letting someone worthy in or keeping those boundaries up around her heart.

I loved both of these characters. Both have been burned before but when fate intervenes they have no choice but to follow their heart. The story has an easy flow and will suck you in from the very beginning. I can't wait to see what book two has in store!

You know a friendship is a fantastic one when two besties create a "a guide to becoming a strong, happy, single, independent woman" based on Destiny Child's album SURVIVOR and Beyonce's I AM... SASHA FIERCE. I mean what could possibly go wrong with that attitude?

This is one of those stories that I wanted to read based on the blurb. A romantic comedy based on a 20 something and her dating adventure. What this book actually is, is so much more. The lead protagonist -Jessie- was someone I liked and then disliked and liked all over again. Graham is the type of guy that is so nice and accommodating you can't help but feel for the guy. He's willing to put himself out there to experience all that life has to offer.

This is a story filled with angst and insta love. The characters are slowly developed and build right along with the story.

It was an enjoyable read and at 400+ pages, it is a book that you can settle in with when you have time read a solid story.

The title describes the book perfectly. If I were in charge of picking the title, I would not be able to come up with a better one. This is a romantic comedy and this is such a fun book. Graham is a dream boat. I love the make him a relatable dreamboat, not to the point that is untouchable dreamboat. There is a lot of playful banter in this book which I feel is one of the main highlights of this book. I love a book that has good dialogue and good inner monologue. Both Jesse and Graham are fabulous main characters. Ms Miller does a fabulous job of making lovable, relatable characters while at the same time bringing in some much needed fun to some rather heart wrenching drama. All of the supporting characters do fit within the story and build the story for what it is, even if I wanted to give a few of them a sift kick in the rear. Highly recommended.

Single is book one in the Love in Seattle series by Lindsay Marie Miller. I love nothing more than escaping into a novel written in a way that is quite unique to this author.

Single is a love story. Of course. But that isn't all it is. It is a tale of endurance, extreme patience, understanding, frustration, ultimate faith and commitment. Graham and Jessie face off in many battles, with me as a reader pulling my hair out. Two steps forward, five steps back. They always seemed to be in battle ove their relationship. What a seriously entertaining and complete story.

Lindsay Marie Miller keeps a reader just this side of the edge. Tension is always at breaking point and it is always dramatic. I cannot get enough of this particular writing style and crave the emotional and lasting impression this author leaves a reader with. 5 stars

It took me until the middle of this book to get into it. I had to find reasons to like these characters. Jessi was just plain miserable to read about and Graham was too desperate. I would’ve gave up after the first rejection. Jessi didn’t know what she wanted and kept stringing Graham along. I didn’t understand why he kept going back. Yes she had some emotional trauma from what her parents did but to me it wasn’t valid enough reason to push someone away. The reasons that she kept wanting to leave him over were just childish and Graham caved every time she walked back into his life. It was so unstable the growth of their relationship. But too each their own. I love HEA stories no matter how they got to that moment. An interesting read for sure and it plot didn’t pit me off the author so I will moat definitely be reading more.

Single by Lindsay Marie Miller is the first book in the Love in Seattle Series. Single is a romantic comedy and a great start to the series. Single tells the story of Jessica Jacobs who studies finance at the University of Washington. She has tried some blind dating but has not exactly worked out for her. Then her best friend Sara, gets dumped by her love on Valentine's Day. They both make a deal, boycott all men for the rest of the semester. What will happen if one the best friends meet someone? Will they be able to keep the pact they made?

What a great story Single was! You are just never sure when or where you will find that someone special. This was the book you will want to read in one sitting. You just keep turning the page to see what will happen next. You definitely will be taken on a bumpy ride, but it will be well worth it.

Single by Lindsay Marie Miller is the first book in the Love in Seattle series. I found myself wanting to shake Jessie half the time and hug her the other half. I get the relationship with her Mother wasn't great but to have her childhood issues impact her in that way was very frustrating for me. I don't have a close relationship with my Mom and though it has effected me I didn't allow it to dictate how I was going to live my life.

I wish I could have gotten more Graham and his life and family. I caught a small glimce but would have loved more.

I will be looking for the next book in the series for a few reasons. First, I want to see what happens with Graham and Jessie. Second, I enjoyed this book and everything I have read by Me. Miller that I have no doubt I will enjoy it.
