The thing is, I like Amy Harmon and I'm not averse to messy love stories.
After all, isn't real life messier? What I don't like, however, is the conflation of the varying and discordant themes within this book. Thus, I was overwhelmed.

Second-chance love?
Pseudo love triangle?

Harmon further layered the main themes with issues relating to morality, loyalty, friendship, and mental illness. On the one hand, Harmon has written a narrative that is

Amy Harmon has done it again. She’s woven together a complex, heartbreaking, and uplifting story that I couldn’t put down. The Smallest Part was on the angsty side for Harmon, it was also a bit steamier than what she usually writes, and I couldn’t get enough. This book captivated me from the first page and never let go. It’s a story of friendship, of family, of heartache, loss, and of love.

As soon as I dived into this book, I knew it was something special. This book wrecked me and then filled me up with heartwarming feelings. THE SMALLEST PART is the kind of book that will claim a piece of your heart and no matter how much time has passed, it will remain unforgettable!

Have you ever read a book that has MOVED YOU SO MUCH that your heart and soul are still stuck in the story? Here I sit with tears still inked in my eyes as I try to recover from the explosion of Amy Harmon’s heartfelt words. The Smallest part was such a unique and emotional read that tells the angst filled story of 3 best friends Noah, Mercedes, and Cora. It’s a book about loving and losing and loving again.

I don’t want to say much on the plot, because it feels like one small detail can spoil the entire book. But I’ve been asked multiple times if this story is a love triangle. And to that I will answer no – it is not. But it does involve 3

WOW! I loved this book.

Brilliant, extraordinary, heart touching … those are just a few words to describe The Smallest Part and yet there are still so much more that I could use to describe this magnificence story and still not do it justice. Ms. Harmon reached through the pages and grabbed my heart and kept it long after the story was done.

Many thanks to Amy Harmon for my very first ARC copy of one of her novels!

Authors like Amy Harmon are the reason I read. Her beautiful heart bleeds onto the pages of every book she writes. After I finish reading each book I'm left in awe of her writing, the soul of her books, and just how deeply my heart was captured by her stories. The Smallest Part was no exception. It quickly made it to the top of my "favorite books" list, like the

Overall Opinion: I'm not quite sure what I expecting with this one, but that wasn't it! Not to say that it was a big disappointment or anything -- just different from what I was expecting. I completely wasn't expecting the PNR aspects it has in it! This book has one of the mcs in The Law of Moses in it as one of Noah's patients. While I haven't read that book, I caught on right away with what the author was doing. I'm slowly easing myself out of my box every once in a while...but PNR is

After many books by Amy Harmon, one thing is crystal clear, she has a way with words. Her words enchant, thrill and evoke feelings that refuse to be ignored. She digs deep, emotionally and personally. The Smallest Part was thought provoking, emotionally heart-wrenching and beautiful.

Once again Amy portrayed ordinary persons that could be your neighbors in an extraordinary light.
She does not write about superheroes saving the world in epic ways. She writes about small people being quietly extraordinary. In a lifelong silent, constant and discreet support.

It's a daunting review to write as this book had another "feel" to it than other books written by Amy.

The Smallest Part is a standalone friend to lovers’ romance with a dash of the forbidden and lots of love. It toggles between the past and present time frame with a third person penmanship that slowly and certainly builds the layers of the narrative and drew me into a story that illustrates the perspective of both the male and female protagonist. It’s about friendship, family, loving, holding on and letting go. It delves into the unknown and explores the ties of love. Every single element of the

Noah, Mercedes and Cora were childhood friends. As they grew from kids through to adolescence, Mercedes developed a huge crush on Noah and unbeknownst to her, he felt the same way. However, when they were teenagers Cora made it known to Mercedes that she liked Noah, despite knowing her friend had feelings for him first. Being the good friend that she is, Mercedes put aside her feelings for him, paving the way for Cora to pursue a life with him.

I'm going to go with a 3.5 - because although I absolutely loved it, I was unhappy about the way certain things panned out. I hated certain characters and the way they were so revered by the others.

Still, I couldn't put it down and I adored Mer & Noah together
Compelling, passionate and heart-wrenching, Amy Harmon crafted a provocative, thought-provoking tale about first loves, second chances, and pure, unconditional love.

Loving Mercedes wasn't like falling off a cliff. It wasn't even the heart-clenching of a missed step. It wasn't a jerk or a jostle. It wasn't tripping or tumbling at all. It was the slow climb of a lifetime of moments, the line upon line, day after day kind of love. And it was deeper and more durable for it.
