I hate to write bad reviews but both main characters were just plain annoying and childish to me. I like strong characters with a backbone, real issues and a believable love story, but Trace & Chrissie came across as two horny teenagers with nothing else much in common other than to screw each other. Chrissie's back & forth of whether to sleep with him or not in the beginning and then whether to tell him about her son, just plain aggravated me to the point I wanted to clobber her upside the head and tell her to make up her mind already! Then when the douche of a hero finds out he is a father, he acts like a toddler with a temper tantrum, and the lapdog that the heroine is, she takes it - even when he kicks her out of her own bed! I could go on and on but suffice it to say that this book just plain annoyed me. So if anyone cares, the hero slept with OW during the 4 years separation & heroine did not.

I liked Janice Lynn’s writing style right away and found it had a nice, easy, modern flow to it. And I thought it was a cool idea for Chrissie and Trace to meet–and have instant chemistry–while they volunteered at a charity event. What better way to have an unforgettable weekend with no attachments, right? Their chemistry was still just as potent four years later but it was what Trace and Chrissie had each been through in the interim that affected how they handled the secret being revealed and how they wanted to move forward. I love stories with chance meetings that bore consequences, especially when there's a hint of a second chance romance and a baby in the mix. No matter how many stories with the same plot - there's still something unique in every book that catches your attention. Which is true in this book.
I got hooked from the very first few chapters of the book. It was interesting, plus this book was well-written except for maybe one part where it was suppose to say Chrissie but instead said Savannah. I was confused there a bit - but that could easily be rectified if you read carefully again on those parts.
My only concern was that the story I think wasn't completed or was maybe rushed? Cause it wasn't really shared what happened on Trace's past with DAW and why he doesn't want to stay home. It was only said in passing - which was a let down since he was a nomad because of this reason, and I think it should have been presented with more importance than the one we got.
This story was short and sweet, with a bit of angst. It's about family, second chances, and of course, romance.

I’m really glad I took the chance to try this author for the first time. I don’t know why, but I really love secret baby stories and this one surprised me. The heroine had a very compelling psychological reason she didn’t tell the hero about his son, which also contributed to a lot of interpersonal conflict in the middle fo the book as she had to deal with her inner trauma and fears.
The hero is probably one of the best doctor heroes I’ve read. He’s working for a group similar to Doctors Without Borders, but during his time in the Middle East, he was the victim of a terrorist attack and he has some intense survivor’s guilt. He’s also haunted by the needy women and children he treated in poverty-stricken areas. His combative relationship with his father rounds out his personality and it’s entirely easy to see why he’s so nomadic in nature and resistant to relationships.

Nurse Chrissie had a fling with Dr.Trace Steven but it turned into something more a few months later when she had a child. Its been four years since then and she didn't expect to see him again. Its pretty obvious the attraction is still there as they share another brief encounter but Chrissie knows she has to let Trace in on the fact that he fathered a child.
This is pretty standard one nightstands leading into pregnancy situations and getting a second chance kinda thing that I enjoy reading. Its over done for the most part with these books but I guess you'd call it a guilty pleasure of mine. If you your not into sappy predictable stories then your not going to want to pick this book up but if you enjoy that kinda thing like I do then you'll want to pick this book up. One thing I can say that I haven't come across is Chrissie's back story which I do appreciate. I loved getting to see Trace step up when he needed to and I loved that he was willing to at least try to be a parent. Overall it was predictable but still enjoyable to me.

A enjoyable read. Family, second chance, love, as well as a little passion. While the book in engaging as well as the characters, I found some parts a little too brief in the background. However, even with that, I enjoyed the story and was engaged in it for the entire time. So for a little light reading , buy, sit and enjoy! I was given this book in return for an honest review. Excellent story
I loved the two main characters. They had a special relationship but didn't trust each other enough to be truthful with each other. They finally opened up to each other and found real happiness.

The story was predictable but very engaging. But I feel let down by the cover of the book. They have a son together, not a daughter. I know it should not matter but tiny things like that should matter.
The story has good flow and very descriptive even though it's a small book. Liked it alot.

The story is starting good, but it becomes complicated and the heroine becomes losing herr te sensibility and childish, l am confused whether l should finish the book or not…..
