He comes from a long and distinguished line of dukes, well most of them were distinguished. Jared Langley, thirteenth Duke of Reston, wealthy, handsome and jaded by life and love is determined to marry for love or never marry at all, appearances be damned. After finding and reading the journals of the previous dukes, and watching the wretched marriage his parents had, Jared, a family history buff realizes that only his namesake, the seventh duke has no journal, no history and he is determined to ...more

Duke du Jour is Outlander meets Downton Abbey in lush Regency England.

Jared is the thirteenth Duke of Reston, and as such, he’s stunned to hear his fiancée is fooling around behind his back. He should be heart-broken but he isn’t because he never gave his heart to her. It takes a magic fountain and a tumble through time for him to lose his heart to the beautiful Lady Ariana Hart.

Ariana has been in love with Jared Langley, the seventh Duke of Reston, since she was little. Upon hearing that he’s

I don't usually read time travel novels, however Duke du Jour kept my attention from the opening pages right through to the end. To top it all the book was clean, entertaining, suspenseful and really well written. When the stuffy Jared Langley, thirteenth Duke of Reston is informed that his fiance has been cheating on him, he breaks the engagement. In an effort to clear his thinking, he takes a walk and discovers a fountain that he was hitherto unaware of . Accidentally losing his balance and ...more

What can I say? Another historical homerun for me. Plus, its got time travel, too. I hate to offend Ms. McCarty but I never did like the movie Kate & Leopold but I did love this book. Especially that it was about the hero going back in time. Score for me.

Jared is one of those heroes that just grabbed me from the start. He was caring, a bit of rakehell in the present but knew that he wouldn’t marry any woman because of his title. Dealing with the mess of becoming unengaged to a cheater, they

I was charmed out of my boots! It’s nice to begin a book ready to snuggle into the couch and simply enjoy.

The title is a little unusual, but I saw how it neatly fit into a story of time travel. McCarty captures the absolute ennui of present-day Duke of Reston, the thirteenth duke, Jared Langley. He is disgusted with how he’s pawned over by women, just to have the opportunity to get something from him. He’s beyond bored with making money. He has piles of it and does it buy him happiness? The only

Sometimes I sit and think that it would be kind of interesting to travel back in time. Maybe not two hundred years but perhaps fifty years may work for me. Although I may find it a little fascinating I really am not a reader of time travel romances or books. However with all that being said this book Duke du Jour was a little different it actually kept me entertained from the moment I stepped into the pages. I really can’t put my finger on the reason

A young, handsome, wealthy bachelor tumbles into an old fountain - and finds himself in his own family's past! Jarod Langley is a hard-working, decent man. Jared Bartholomew , Duke of Reston is trying to clear his head after a scene with his, now, ex fiancé. He has never noticed this overgrown part of his garden before or the fountain. It will take him on a very exciting journey.
Lady Ariana Hart is delighted that her neighbour is back from the war. Everyone said he was killed in France.
Our hero realizes pretty quickly what has happened. Now he has to survive, (without getting thrown into Bedlam) long enough to find his way back. He didn't bank on

I really enjoyed this book. I love time travel romance books. It was slow going at first then i really got into it. Couldnt put it down. It was riveting.
The book follows Jared, Duke of Reston who is tumbled into another era where there is no modern day conveniences. Everyone mistakes him for his ancestor and namesake.
He gets embroiled in some mysterious happenings.
I loved the different relationships Jared developed. The humour and witty conversations made me laugh.
At first i was a bit confused

This was pure fun!

Time-travel books have always fascinated me. Each of the characters added something to the story (too often, that is not the case.) The servants were fun, and who can resist a dog whose personality makes you smile.

I dont usually read time travel books but the cover art was just calling to me and I had to see what was in side. And I was not disappointed! OMG, this books has just about everything a true lover of reading would want, It has some action and of course time travel along with good guys and some romance.
Sometimes I need a break from all the 'smut books' I read and this one gave me just what I was needing. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next book in this series.

Irresistible! Time travel, attempted murder, love, what more can you possibly want? The characters are realistic and the plot is well developed. This will keep you reading into the wee hours of the morning. Hopefully the will be a sequel! I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

Duke du Jour was actually really good and very much entertaining! You know, over the years, I thought many times how I would react if I went back in time, but as a woman, I knew that it would pretty much suck since well… we were considered barely human in the old days.

But here, we have a guy who went back to the Regency era by mistake, just cause he fell in a fountain. I mean in Outlander, Claire had to touch that stone! So water, I can live with very much so!

Well, our hero is Jared, and at the

Great First Book

Excellent time travel. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in quite some time. Jared the 13th Duke of Reston has just broken up with his cheating fiancee and wanders into his estate gardens. Strangely it's overrun with weeds and there is a fountain that he doesn't remember which he stumbles into and finds himself in 1816. Fortunately he resembles the 7th Duke of Reston also named Jared. Really nicely done. Looking forward to future books as this is a definite series and we need

This was a very fun and exciting read on Regency Romance. This is the first I've read of a time traveling Duke. It has love, spies, and mystery. An unknown danger follows the duke around. Who is a friend? Well written enjoyment. This story had my full attention!

"Duke du Jour" is a simply adorable time travel romance by Petie McCarty. Jared, living in the 21st Century, is the current 13th Duke of Reston. He is engaged to a woman of his social standing, he doesn't love her, and when he finds out she is cheating on him, he is mad but not heartbroken. Jared takes a walk on his estate to clear his head and falls into a fountain, and wakes up 200 years in the past.
The current Jared has a lot to learn about the past, it seems he is mistaken for the seventh

And since I had just read Betting on Cinderella of Petie McCartey I knew I would be in for a treat.

And yep, it was great. Jared, thirteenth duke of the Reston estate finds himself awakened after a fall in a fountain on his property. However, it is not present day but 1816. The

Petie spent a large part of her career working at Walt Disney World -- "The Most Magical Place on Earth" -- where she enjoyed working in the land of fairy tales by day and creating her own romantic fairy tales by night, including her new series, The Cinderella Romances. These days Petie also spends her time writing
