Hugh Derrel Zachary is an American novelist who has written science fiction novels under the pseudonyms Zach Hughes and Evan Innes. His other pseudonyms include Peter Kanto and Pablo Kane. He received his education from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, served in the U.S. Army, and worked in broadcast journalism in Florida.
Zachary describes himself as "the most published, underpaid and most unknown writer in the U.S."
This is an interesting little who-done-it set in the 70s (my guess) in Florida. There's quite a lot of mention of racial issues, which is why I'm guessing on the 70s.
Murders in the local hospital can only mean one thing - the people in the county are trying to get it closed so the county hospital can move to a more 'central' area. Or does it mean that there is a violent love triangle? It's up to the local deputy to find out, and without losing the election for his boss, the sheriff!
This is a well-done mystery that kept me guessing.
