Hope this is an ARC!

The story and ideas are simple, stated in an understandable way, and entertaining; however, several of the pages were out of order. The story started on the same page as the forward ended, making it a little confusing and I am an adult. Once these confusing issues are resolved. It should easily be worth another star.

Mr. Shipman’s Kindergarten Chronicles: December Celebrations by Terance Shipman
December Celebrations is a beautiful picture book about the warmth and wonder of Christmas and shows how a teacher puts all his efforts to make holidays memorable and enjoyable for his class.
DeWayne, a little boy, is excited about a letter from his teacher about the December celebration. When he gave this letter to his mom and sister Banaica, then Banicia recalls the December celebration in Mr. Shipman’s classroom as her favorite time of the year and tells him about the fun and adventure they had through December in his class.
They visited the tree farm to pick the Christmas tree, and the children helped him decorate the Team Shipman tree with their handmade ornaments. They did many crafts activities, read Christmas books all through the month, listened to music, and celebrated other holidays like Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.
Join Mr. Shipman’s class to know how Mr. Shipman makes the month of December an enjoyable, educational, multicultural celebration for every child and parent and what happened when Mr. Shipman surprised his class as Santa Claus.
This fun educational story teaches about love, kindness, caring, friendship, teamwork and shows the real meaning of the celebration. I’m sure children will love this book and read it again and again.

With the holiday season comes opportunities for families to enjoy more time and books together. For those who celebrate the December holidays, the days leading up to Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza and similar holidays, are an ideal time to share inspirational stories featuring themes of love, tradition, and the true meaning of the holidays. Let me take this opportunity to introduce a perfect book to enjoy the holiday seasons and that book is Mr. Shipman’s Kindergarten Chronicles: DECEMBER CELEBRATIONS by Terance Shipman.

Mr. Shipman’s Kindergarten Chronicles: DECEMBER CELEBRATIONS is a sweet little book that will grab a kid by the imagination right from the start and wouldn’t let the excitement go till the very end. As I was reading the book, all the memories of my life in kindergarten including the classrooms, corridors, playground and the affection of my favorite teachers came alive. The sweet hardcover of the book shows Mr. Shipman dressed as Santa and holding his kindergarten students as they are enjoying the December holidays to the fullest, from gifts and decorations to field trips and Christmas tree. The common theme that emerges is one of affection, Tradition, diversity and the value of celebrating different cultures together. The story is told through the eyes of an innocent child, describes the exciting memories of Christmas celebrations of a young child named Banicia and her Kindergarten classmates during Mr. Shipman’s kindergarten class.

As this book talks about Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, it introduces children to the beautiful uniqueness of many cultures, it can be used as a great opportunity by parents and teachers to show children how people around the world celebrate the same holiday in different ways. Filled with lavish illustrations, magnificent detail, and enchanting holiday scenes on every page. Mr. Shipman’s book perfectly reflects a diversity of characters and traditions that teaches kids to see themselves as part of a global world.

Overall, it is an exciting adventure for younger kids and will definitely make them looking forward to their school year in kindergarten!

this book warmed my heart ...we all need a bit of extra warmth this time of the year, it is so chilly outside. great illustrations. and live real photos. i am curious about: page 16 and page 2 there are no photos there? like they are meant to have photos, but nothing is showing for me personally? (i got this today 12/17/2020, i won a Goodreads giveaway, lucky me, i am truly blessed to check it out, love that!!) ...i wonder if that is a kindle issue or? i will tell u a bit about my connection to teachers ... my parents were both teachers, many of my relatives were teachers ...so teaching in my forms ...be it in school fashion, Sunday school, or just in daily life ... i know it ... i appreciate it and i know the time and energy it takes ...but it is such a rewarding job (way to walk in life, so awesome!) My Mom was a librarian for many years both in elementary school and middle school. my Dad was a technology teacher at one time it was called an industrial arts teacher, he was was in high school, then middle school. I recall when he first started teachers were allowed to smoke in the classes, nothing like what it is like this day an age ...point being ... if you allow life to move you forward, you learn and grow ... continue to grow .. no matter what ... grow from all moments ...both good and bad. u will change and keep moving forward. i enjoyed this read. well done.

Nice celebration story

My 5 years old kindergartener was a bit confused who is in the current story, and what happened long ago. The text was a bit long for her too to keep her attention.
I loved the teacher’s enthusiasm, his attention and dedications for every detail.

Our advance read kindle edition (a goodreads giveaway win) had paragraphs out of order, a sentence unfinished and the pictures were almost never on the same page as their paragraphs. We used Kindle for iPhone.

Smile worthy

What a lovely story. A delightful way to discuss the multicultural nature of the December holidays. Celebrating them all fills the time with such Joy and excitement.
Illustrations are colorful and joyous.
My favorite part of the story was at the end when we discover that Mr Shipman is a real, live teacher. I pray every child has at least one teacher like Mr Shipman.
Yeah, Team Shipman!
I experienced a slight disappointment with the formatting of the ebook. But the joy shines through.

This is an adorable story about a kindergarten teacher that celebrates all the December holidays in his class. Dewayne comes home from school with a note from Mr. Shipman. His older school tells Dewayne all about the December holidays in Mr. Shipman's class. He teaches his students all about Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa in fun and educational ways. What a magical experience! I read the kindle version (goodreads giveaway) and it was very out of order making it hard to follow. If that gets fixed it will be much easier to read and follow.

How could any adult or young child not love this very short tale of celebrating the December holidays in a unique and special kindergarten class? I would only wish that every child would be so fortunate as to have such a warm and sensitive teacher as Mr. Shipman. I suspect that these lucky kids are the ones that retain their interest in learning in subsequent years. An inspirational story!

Team Shipman

This is one of the stories about Mr. Shipman's Kindergarten class, specifically December holidays. You can tell that Mr. Shipman has a love of teaching by the way the students react to his class and the effort he puts into planning. I like how he included all the holidays in December for all student. You can tell the impact of a good teacher by the way the children get excited when they remember things from a specific teacher's class. A cute story for kids.

I won this as part of a giveaway and I’m really glad I did! It was such a sweet cute story with really great illustrations. I love that it’s written by a real teacher. My only complaints would be that on my fire kindle the text started with the acknowledgements and some of the first pages were out of order so I had to go back and fit it together in my head to read it, otherwise it was delightful!

I read Mr. Shipman's Kindergarten Chronicles which was based on Christmas and all the fun the children had. Filled with colourful and exciting illustrations at every single page made me go crazy for this series. Though it's a children book preferably for the age group 5+, but everyone is welcomed to enjoy this short read.
Banicia recalls her childhood Christmas memories. Mr. Shipman planned trip to the tree farm with the children. They cut their own trees, read books on holiday, listened to music, did the art works and had delicious food.
I was delighted to read this book. Mr. Shipman was depicted as a very thoughtful teacher who genuinely cared about his students. He had planned all the fun activities to make them engaged whole-heartedly. The language was yet another factor for an intriguing read. It could have been made a little simpler considering the readers' age group. But anyways, the story was exciting and the artworks were marvelous. I hope they love going through its pages. We can read them (kids) during bedtime or any activity. I don't mind reading the sequels of this series, and can never stop reading the children's books, ever. The magic and freshness they provide is something I always look for.

“Everyday we read Christmas holiday books. There was a special bookshelf for these books. Also, we did a lot of art projects! I loved all the art projects! We made holiday chains, Christmas cards, reindeer Santa Clauses and stockings using cotton balls. We even made a wreath out of our hand prints!”

For me, it was our Christmas tree and crib making competition. We had four houses (teams) - red, yellow, blue and green and we all made sure to give our best to beat each teams to win the competition.

"Mr Shipman's Kindergarten Chronicles: December Celebrations" by Terance Shipman is a beautifully illustrated book that centres around the Christmas celebrations in Mr. Shipman's kindergarten.

Banicia, a little girl explains to her brother Dewayne about the thrilling and memorable Christmas celebrations she had experienced at Mr. Shipman's class.

This book is not only entertaining for kids, but also educative as it talks about the warmth of family, friendship, etc. Also, it showcases a teacher's role to teach kids values and importance of one's culture and celebrations.

The beautiful illustrations will definitely catch the attention of the kids. Recommended for kids above 5 years.

Dr. Terance Shipman is a 23-year veteran teacher who is also the author of the beautiful "Mr. Shipman's Kindergarten Chronicles" book series for young kids. The series features and celebrates the male teacher and his Kindergarten class chronicles.

The December Holidays book is a narration and recollection of events that occurred during the December Holidays in Mr. Shipman's Kindergarten, narrated by a girl Banicia to her little brother who's just about to experience the same fun events in his class. Reading the book was delightful.

The book has rather a longer text than there should be in a children's book but it is suitable for kids above 6-7 years of age in my opinion. Perhaps those kids will have a nostalgic moment while reminiscing about their own Kindergarten class. I must say that the illustrations play a vital role in children's books and this book is adorned with absolutely lovely illustrations. I would like to appreciate the author's work and the story as the Christmas celebration has been depicted beautifully. This is a lovely Christmas-themed children's book that's also a perfect Christmas gift.

It's that time of the year again! Time of the December Holidays! Dewayne is very excited after getting a letter from Mr. Shipman, and he rushes into the kitchen to show it to his mom. Banicia, his older sister, tells him how she still remembers the holiday days she spent in the class of Mr. Shipman. She starts narrating her experience to Dewayne. Banicia tells Dewayne about her field trip to get the Christmas tree and about all the fun things she did with her classmates, all organised and supervised by Mr. Shipman.

This is a great combination of fun and learning. While talking about the vacation and fun activities, the book also talks about the different cultures and their way of celebrating winter festivals.

The story shares an instance of Mr. Shipman’s Kindergarten, where he is teaching his students about Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza through fun activities. While reading it all my childhood memories flashed in front of my eyes. We used to decorate our classroom and cut the cake with our teacher, then one of the teachers who dressed as the Santa used to come to give us treats. This book is a perfect tool for parents to teach their children about the importance of these celebrations.

The precise details of events on every page keep the interest on. Mr. Shipman has done a fab job in describing the scenes and it showcases the diversity of each tradition and culture beautifully. And with the December holidays approaching us, it is the perfect timing to gift your little friends a smile through this book.

I really love to read children's books and author Terrance Shipman has impressed me a lot with his book. This book was magnificent. Terrance is also a teacher in real life and we can see in this book that author knows a lot about kids and schools. This book is a collection of events that happened during the December Holidays in Mr. Shipman's kindergarten. I really liked the fact that the kindergarten teacher in this book is black. This is one the best children's book I have ever read. Writing style of author is brilliant. Language used in the book was simple and good at the same time. Kids will definitely learn some new words. I am really excited to read another book by the author infact I wish to read every book written by Terrance Shipman. This book will be perfect for 6-7 year kids but we never know I really enjoy these kinds of books. You should definitely get this book for your kid. Lovely read.

December is a month of celebration, festivity, and most importantly, rejuvenation of life.

Mr. Shipman’s Kindergarten Chronicles: December Celebrations is a holiday-themed children’s book written by Terance Shipman and beautifully illustrated by Milan Ristic. Though this book will target the kids, however, I feel nostalgic. I love Mr. Shipman’s exciting and fun way of imparting knowledge about different traditions, cultures, and the true meaning of celebrating the festivals.
The book talks about different festivals like Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Each festival story is narrated with a pure conscience that children will learn how the world celebrates the same holidays in different ways.

I will recommend this book to every younger one; they will love the beautiful narration and exciting stories mentioned in the book. Overall, this is an engaging and amusing storybook that is entertaining and educational.

What a nice book to read in the December month as the book is all about the celebrations of Christmas in Mr Shipman's Kindergarten. Dewayne comes back from school with a letter in his hand from his teacher about the December Celebrations and his mother and sister explains him about the magnificent experience of December Celebrations.

I really appreciate the hardwork done by Mr Shipman to make December Holidays rememberable for his Kindergartenrs. Author becomes a part of their group when he is planning to do something for them. He genuinely become their friend. Teachers who connect or atleast try to connect with the students are the most students remember these type of teachers for the rest of their lives.

Illustrations used in the book were remarkable. An entertaining story of the fun , educational, and multicultural celebrations.
