THE WEDDING QUILT BRIDE is the second book in the Brides of Lost Creek series by Marta Perry. Rebecca is back at her family home after her husband has passed away. She is with her young son, Lige, who is very shy and doesn't talk much since his dad died. Almost immediately after she gets back, she runs in to her old childhood friend, Daniel. Both Rebecca and Daniel have secrets and lots of guilt and all of that holds them back from speak

This sweet book had everything I wish for in an Amish romance. A comforting sense of community, strong family loyalty, and a blossoming love from a childhood friendship. I loved how Rebecca and Daniel warmed up to each other quickly even though they had both changed as time had passed. They brought out the best in each other and Daniel helped Rebecca remember what the support of loving friends and family looked like. She struggled with accepting the unconditional help, but as she began to slowly ...more

I must first say that Marta Perry is a very dear friend; however, that doesn't mean I can't write an honest review of her work. If I didn't like her books, I wouldn't review them. BUT I ALWAYS LIKE HER BOOKS! And this one is no exception. Her characters are primarily Amish of course in this story but they could have been anyone. The conflict revolves around their pasts and what they "think" is true. Which turns out not to be as true as they thought. :-) Rebecca married in haste and has an unhapp ...more

The Wedding Quilt Bride was a sweet tale of learning to trust again and learning to love again. I so enjoyed watching as Rebecca and Daniel grew to be friends again and eventually more. It wasn’t an easy journey for either of them. They both carried guilt and were weighed down with doubts.

There were a lot of interesting characters in this story, and although this was book two in a series, it stood alone just fine. Now I want to go back and read the first book in the series and learn more about t

This is an emotive second chance romance involving two people who had grown up as best friends but have had years apart. Rebecca had returned to her home community after the death of her husband. She has a six year old son, Elijah, and is determined to use her skills to enable her to be independent bringing him up. Daniel King used to be her best friend and is determined to help her settle into her new home, using his carpentry skills to help create the quilt shop she is endeavourin

Astonishingly good! Maybe my favourite by Marta Perry. I think it's the way this story revolves around community that tugged at my heart. Extending a hand and, more importantly, being willing to accept the help of others, plays over and over again in this story in so many beautiful, moving ways.

Daniel and Rebecca were never sweethearts but they were good friends until Rebecca moved away to marry. During their time apart, they've both lived through personal tragedies, both harboring secrets that

The last book I chose to read was THE WEDDING QUILT BRIDE and it was so good. I fell in love with Daniel and Rebecca and sweet little Lige and wanted them to find happiness. This was one of the better Love Inspired romances I've ever read and I'm glad I had an opportunity to read it.

Rebecca is a quilt maker, owns a quilt / fabric shop and is struggling to make it alone but with close family and old friends, like it or not, people want to help her. She also wants to keep her past secret, but fam

The Wedding Quilt Bride is a pretty good and quick read. It, also, the second book from Marta Perry's series, Brides of Lost Creek. I found Rebecca's story to be a heartwarming, sweet and fun read. I loved it when she was introduced to Daniel.

I give The Wedding Quilt Bride four stars. I hope to read the first book in the series, as well as, what happens next in the third book.

I received this book from publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

I loved this sweet story and endearing characters in, The Wedding Quilt Bride. Rebecca Mast and her little boy, Elijah return to her home childhood in Lost Creek to be with her family after the death of her husband. Lige (Elijah) stole my heart from the beginning and I loved how he bonded with, Daniel.

Daniel and Rebecca have known each other since they were both young and he wants to help her realize her dream of opening a quilt shop, the only problem is, Rebecca is a changed person and she is m

THE WEDDING QUILT BRIDE by Marta Perry is a second chance romance that brings widow Rebecca Mast back to to hometown after the death of her husband. Rebecca returns to family with her shy son Lige at her side and a dream to make a life beyond what she endured before.

Rebecca and Daniel’s story was a lovely read with true to life issues. Daniel had a way with Rebecca’s son, Elijah, which was touching. Rebecca wanted to make it on her own, when she returned home but struggled with her late husband’s brother not following through with payments as agreed upon in a contract for the farm in Ohio. Rebecca didn’t want her past to be known to Daniel and Daniel didn’t want to share all he had experienced while Rebecca was gone. Will they be able to overcome the past w ...more

Reading about the tight connection in the Amish community is always refreshing. Through in a little romance and you have a good read. If you want to know more, read the book.

Can two people who have been hurt by life and their beliefs come together as more than friends?
The author has given us a glimpse into Amish life from a different angle, as we journey through the hurts and upsets that have been heaped on them by life and the actions of others.
We are given a new beginning for a mother and her young son, and we get to see the building of a quilt shop, which if it were near me I would be using, and we see the giving spirit of an old friend.
Can even the young child o

I love the faith, love, devotion, commitment in this story. Will Rebecca Mast give in and allow others to help her? My review is 4.5 Stars

While I often equate the Amish with a close-knit community and families that stand up for one another, I don’t believe I have read another Amish book that highlights this as much or as well as The Wedding Quilt Bride. Author Marta Perry has done such a beautiful job of showing how families can work together to support and care for one another in this lovely book.

I was so touched by the kind way Daniel treated Lige, Rebecca’s son. (His f

I have long enjoyed a good story by Marta Perry. I have read several of her Amish fiction books and have enjoyed her writing. In The Wedding Quilt Bride, I was curious how she would reconcile two people: one who had suffered trauma and another who felt he wasn’t able to keep a family together. That’s no minor feat, considering it had to happen in only 212 pages!

Lige, Rebecca’s son, has to be one of my favorite characters. Having seen and heard things that he shouldn’t have had to at his age, he

The Love Inspired books are always so fun to read, and they are the perfect size to tuck away in your purse. My personal favorite has been the Love Inspired Historical adventrues, but it was nice to read a story from the main Love Inspired series. This story is set in Amish country and follows the life of Rebecca Mast. The reader finds Rebecca trying to discover a new path in a life, yet this new path is one from her past. Therefore, one hopes no complications will arise, yet difficulties seem t ...more

Marta Perry is well-known for her romantic suspense books. So well-known, in fact, that many people don't realize she also writes exceptional Amish fiction. The Wedding Quilt Bride, book 2 in her Brides of Lost Creek series, ranks right up there with some of her best.

When I chose The Wedding Quilt Bride by Marta Perry to kick off my Amish August series, I assumed that the book would be based on the typical idyllic Amish romance, but I was wrong! The Wedding Quilt Bride is a sweet read set in the heart of Pennsylvania Amish country. Both Rebecca Mast and Daniel King have known the pain of giving of themselves only to be let down by those they loved. Marta Perry paints their story with a tender brush that is both uplifting and sweet. While I wish I would have read the first book in the series, just to learn the backstory of some of the characters in this story, it can be read as a standalone book. At just over 200 pages, this isn't an in ...more

Author Marta Perry has another winner here, showing us that life doesn’t always go the way we expect, but God is always redemptive.

The Amish community portrayed in this book is a great picture of the Church. Warm, caring, always there to help, the characters made me want to visit with them. Of course not everyone is that way, which makes the story true to life and not sappy. The topic of domestic abuse is handled well. Much is alluded to, and not overly descriptive, which I appreciated.
