Rate this book
Jenna Warren is an Idaho ranch girl who loves her Appaloosa horse, Blue, and the freedom she has to run her life the way she wants to. But she's aware that she's never really seen the world, let alone experienced real love.

Daniel Martin is a British schoolteacher, bound by duty to a desperate family situation, and struggling to find his own path as a musician.

When Jenna and Dan meet at a family wedding, they are instantly attracted to each other, but Dan has to leave for Britain the next day. As Jenna follows him to Summerfield, a family conflict ignites, tearing their new love apart.

In this sweet romance, set between the Idaho ranch, the English countryside and tropical Australia, can Jenna and Dan's love find a way to make it through?

If you love a happy ending, this clean and wholesome, contemporary romance might just be for you.

Penny Appleton is the pen name of a mother and daughter team from the south-west of England.

We both enjoy traveling and many of the stories contain aspects of our adventures.

We both like reading. Some of our favorite romance authors include Danielle Steele and Nora Roberts, plus we love The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCulloch, as well as Jane Austen and Stephenie Meyer.

Our favorite movies include Legends of the Fall, A Room with a View, and The Notebook.

We both enjoy walking in nature, and a gin & tonic while watching the sun go down.

One of us is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author in another genre.

We are good friends … although sometimes we want to strangle each other! Family relationships are at the heart of our books.

I tried a second go at Penny Appleton's books (because I had been given two so might as well, right?). Unfortunately, this book also just didn't work for me. I couldn't grab onto the characters and I felt so out of place reading it. But, you know what? That's okay! Not every book is for me. I'll take this one as a loss and hope someone finds my copy that I had as a wonderful read for them.

One out of five stars.

A sweet romance 💖

I received this book from the author. My Review is honest and my own. I rate it 4.5⭐️💖
This book is part of the Summerfield Village series. It can be read as a standalone. It is a Sweet, clean, Christian, Romance and i really enjoyed reading this story. It talks about the loss of a loved one, grief, sadness, mental illness, love, and ultimately finding oneself. In the story we follow Jenna Warren an Idaho ranch girl and Daniel Martin a British schoolteacher. They both go on their journeys and follow their own paths to their dreams. But they also find ways through the distance to let their love for each other flourish. I also enjoyed reading about Jenna's Appaloosa horse, Blue. It brought back memories of when I lived on the horse farm and of my dad. I guess you could say I could relate. I also loved how God and prayer were incorporated in the story. I always appreciate authors that do that. I definitely want to read the other books in the series and see how they all tie together. Here is one of the quotes that I absolutely love from this book: "Do you remember the story of Ruth from the Bible?" I nod. "Yes, Ruth goes with her new family to another land." Dan smiles. "I'll go where you go, lodge where you lodge, and your people shall be my people. We’ll be together." - this made me squeel with happiness and kick my feet up.
If you enjoy sweet, Christian , contemporary romance then I say you should give this book a chance. You just might enjoy it the way I did.

A very enjoyable, captivating, dreamy read! One of those books that you just can't put down because you need to know what will happen next. I loved all the different settings, and especially enjoyed hearing about Jenna's travels to different countries.

Jenna's father gets married and this is where she meets Daniel Martin, a visitor from England attending the wedding. Sparks fly and she can't seem to get him out of her mind. Luckily enough, Jenna's father gives her a loaded credit card as a gift for working on the family ranch in Idaho without pay for many years; and Jenna decides to travel. She goes to England, where she spends time with Daniel again and is left feeling uncertain if he "is the one" or not.

I found Jenna to be somewhat spoiled (maybe I was jealous of her getting the credit card from her father!) and a little whiny and immature. Perhaps this is how the author wanted her to come across to the reader? Nonetheless, I still loved the story and had the book finished within a day because I had such difficulty putting it down.

Now I am on a mission to find more books by this mother/daughter duo author, Penny Appleton. I can't wait to read more about the extended family members!

Thank you so much to Goodreads and the author for sending me a lovely personalized note with the book. I am very excited to read more of your books! Keep up the good work, and keep on writing!

This is the second book in this series, with a third planned to be released in the near future. This one looks at Jenna and her travels around the world and Dan whom she meets at her fathers wedding. They live countries apart but can they find a way to be together.
Penny writes a beautiful love story which is full of ups and downs and life. She writes in such a charming way that you are almost sad to reach the end of her stories.

Another great story from this author. I loved reading about the different places and the author made her characters so believable. Excellent romance. I'd recommend this book and I look forward to the author's next book!

This was just an average romance. It never really captured my interest, but my sister enjoyed it. I felt that the lead male character's personality was not brought out sufficiently well for me to care about him. I did enjoy the descriptions of the countries visited by the heroine.

Jenna Finds the World

When Jenna's dad remarried she knew that her world was changing. She's never been anywhere but in the ranch. Now with Dan she has a chance to see the world. He is headed for Australia to teach but her heart aches for home and her horse, Blue.

A lovely, entertaining read

I enjoyed the building romance in the story and change of locations. I anticipated more horse moments in the story but they featured well toward the end.

I was crying at the end, and I wished Blue was mine--despite being afraid up horses up close. But I could definitely feel the love and connection.

It was a perfectly pleasant well-written read, but it didn't really stand out. I did like some of the cultural details that came out during the heroine's travels.
