I'm not sure if it's the way this is written, or the translation, but this book is odd, strangely structured, and very dry. Why is almost every person mentioned a "cousin"? Why is every person/job described in a way that smacks unpleasantly of the most substandard mid-century American textbook prose? Ugh. This could have been so much more, but it's not, I'm sorry to say. A disappointment, to be sure.

Ich mag es mehr als mein Sohn, weil ich die Illustrationen fantastisch finde. Mein 3,5 jähriger Sohn muss wohl noch in das Thema hineinwachsen.
