Unadventurous Lissy McIntyre believes choosing the right man should be based on common sense. She would never pick a rolling stone like Nick Richards for long-term love. But a red-hot, tropical romance? Yes, please. He's got a swoon-worthy body and his kisses leave her senseless. A tropical holiday romance might be what she needs…

When Nick moves to his new job in a small c

The premise of Holiday Affair sounded like a delightful read: warm sandy beaches, sizzling hoiliday romance, a rational academic heroine and a roguish charming hero, I thought I’d just need a cocktail to feel like I was on vacation. But sadly the characters drove me up the wall almost as soon as their vacation came to an end and though I persevered and gave it several chances, after 70% I was just so frustrated with Lissy (and Nick) that I waved them goodbye.
At first it wasn’t easy pinpointing w

Love a story with a strong woman who knows her own mind. When Lissy meets Nick on holiday she decides to have a fling with him, no strings attached. I easily found myself lost in the beautiful descriptions of the settings that Annie Seaton developed. She has a way with words that make you feel you are in the setting with her characters, even to the stage where I was cursing Nick to hurry up and stop stringing Lissy along. Interaction is good with the story, isnt it? It means that I was hooked an ...more

Lyrical writing and an adorable heroine. I loved seeing Lissy come out of her shell! Add to that spark and heat with a sexy hero who manages to radiate alpha while never being bossy or mean... All together a fantastic book!

Holiday Affair is the first book I have read by Annie Seaton, and I have to say I will look for more!! I absolutely loved this book!

The book starts out with Lissy McIntyre on vacation. She needs a break from being Dr. McIntyre history professor and to say goodbye to her Gramps. While on a sailing ship she meets the oh so sexy sailor/ drifter Nick, and the chemistry and sparks fly immediately. She decides to let herself have a fling, because she knows she w

A Holiday Affair is a contemporary romance book that I appreciated and enjoyed reading. In this story, Lissy is on a holiday of sorts, traveling after laying her grandfather to rest, when she meets the good looking, but arrogant, Nick. From the start, there is chemistry between them, but their relationship starts off pretty rocky. However, they succumb to a liaison, neither expecting to see the other again. As it turns out, Nick is the new professor assigned to work in Lissy's department at the ...more

Ever wished you could just get away from it all, let your hair down and lose yourself in a wild fling with a gorgeous man and never have to worry about annoying things like repercussions? So did Lissy. Sorry, I meant Dr. Melissa McIntyre. When this sedate assistant university professor threw caution to the wind and indulged in a holiday fling, she got more than she'd bargained for. Never see the bloke again? Think again! What if he's waiting in your office on Monday morning, your senior colleagu ...more

This book was not to my taste. I will admit that. There was nothing strictly wrong with the writing but as someone who has been reading in the genre for a while there were certain aspects of the book that were quite predictable, though I won't name those here as I do not believe in spoilers.

Lissy as a character, and if she were a real person, would not be someone that I like at all. There is a sense of manipulation about her as she plays games with Nick and he does the same in turn. She is many

¡Por las barbas de Jebuuuus! ¡Qué es esto! Un días después y sigo sin comprender qué pretendió hacer la autora. ¿Una guía turística, tal vez?
description

Holiday Affair by Annie Seaton

This is the first book I’ve read by Annie Seaton and I do have to say she is one damn great author. Her descriptions made me want to go on a holiday on a sail boat and find my own sailor. Annie writing is good the story flows extremely well and I have to say I really enjoyed Holiday Affair.

We meet Lissy McIntyre who has just lost her grandfather and has decided to take a vacation on the open sea. During her trip she meets Nick who she assumes is some sexy sailor/dri

I just loved this story, from the romantic settings to the well-drawn characters to the snappy dialogue and beautifully written love scenes. It's a really romantic, sweet and sexy read--highly recommended!

Needed a feel-good romance book after two crime thrillers, and Goodreads popped this up on my Recommendations screen. I started reading it with low expectations (Mills & Boons expectations), but it surely turned out to be better than that. In quite a short book, the author managed to build the world well. I liked the vivid descriptions of the settings. The strong ambitious character of the protagonists was also appealing. And, the romance was .. well .. not bad. There were irritating moments ...more

Lissy is a by the books kind of gal and Nick a fly by the seat of your pants type of guy. So what happens when the control freak and the rolling stone land miles from home and in one of the most beautiful settings. The battle of wills becomes an affair to remember. Will it lead to happily ever after or end of the line heartache> Holiday Affair is what I've come to expect from Ms. Seaton. An escapade into the familiar, but a journey into the unknown. Flirty, fun, fantasy.

When I started reading it, I really wanted to love this book. The settings appealed, as I've holidayed at Hamilton Island and have been to the other places mentioned. In my past, I've fallen for my boss, been confused and cried a lot - just like Lissie. But I couldn't fall in love with this book.

Maybe I misunderstand the current academic hierarchies within Australian universities but I did know them once, when I was married to a professor. SO - I couldn't get my head around a heroine who was alr

This book is filled with twists and turns which make it hard to stop reading. Lissy is very relatable and engaging, and Nick is HOT and charismatic.

I also enjoy it because it's fast-paced, and the first chapter had me at the edge of my seat. The characters seem real... they are flawed, which I like. She's still hurt because of the loss of her grandfather, which is something we all can relate to. And Nick is still attracted to her even after he finds out she may be engaged to someone else, soon

Really didn't like this one. I was so confused over who felt what. One second they're wanting each other, the next one of them (or both) is suddenly all pissy about something, then they ignore each other!
Lissy's 'almost' relationship with his brother was just stupid. All wrapped up too quickly, too dramatically and too sucky.
Disappointing...

There was something missing for me. I give it a 'meh'. Maybe a lack of character development or the over all flow? I can't put my finger on it. Looking at the reviews I am surprised that this read did not grab me. Oh well, to each their own, right?

Lissy was no more prim and proper Dr. McIntyre. She could imagine the reaction of her history colleagues at the University if they could see her in backpack mode. She was now at the end of her first day of ehr sailing adventure. Then she went to take a picture of the sunset and she saw a sailor interrupt her picture. He was up the mast. Then when he came down toward ehr he was singing a bawdy sea song and Lissy laughed and finished off the last two lines of the song with him. The man introduced ...more

Lissy McIntyre would rather settle for mutual respect in a relationship than love, so Nick Richards would be the last person she should get involved with, especially when he's not the settling down type. However, the moment she meets him, she finds it hard to stay away because of the sizzling chemistry and their heated kisses. Will Nick realize that Lissy is his Ms. Right before it's too late, or will he let his past cost him this chance at happy ever after?

What a delightful read Ms. Seaton has

This centers around Lissy and Nick who will take us on this passionate trip. Even a professor can come out of the norm and have at it on holiday. Then the tables are turned and he is in her area with now this author really has my attention.
