I adore the illustrations in this book. However; my preschooler is just learning phonetics and many of the animals chosen do not match the phonetic sound of the letter. Since she’s currently learning phonics this is not the book for her, In fact I’m not sure it’s the book for any children beginning to read. For example, the G animal is a giraffe. If you will just be looking at it and it’s a picture book, or you introduce letters before their sounds this book might work for you. If you are teaching your child phonetically wait until they are older to introduce this book.
