An interesting concept for a primary school book about math, illustrated with Wells' charming creatures. Unfortunately, it never really caught on with my kid-- the interest level was kindergarten or so, but the format didn't work well for us. Would probably be excellent for homeschooling, summer review with parent, or maybe with a small pre-school group.

I felt so confused after reading this book. It says something about getting ready for kindergarten but last time I checked, kindergartners can't read full paragraphs like that! It seriously was written for children who can actually read huge paragraphs. I am not saying some little ones can't read it but that was just ridiculous. I would not recommend this book at all unless you plan on reading it out loud but it is to long for that. I really did not like this book at all and didn't think it was age appropriate in any way shape or form.

This book states on its front cover - Get set for kindergarten. It is very much a kindergarten book but an adult would have to read it to the student. It's actually pretty good at relating everyday activities to learning. It is also very interactive with the student by having the student help solve problems on every page. The only drawback is that the kindergartener would not be able to do this on his/her own yet. But would be great for introducing math concepts to the student or help with practice.

I am sure Rosemary Wells tried to make this book suitable for the classroom as well as the home, but it should simply stick in the home setting! It is a great book for one-on-one reading and lesson plans. However, this book has far too small of print, and the pictures are too small to provide proper whole class interaction during read-aloud. I would certainly get this book to use within my future home, but I would not place it within any classroom I taught in.

Greast book for counting but in different ways. Measuring, grouping, using the telephone to recognize numbers and more. I think it's a cute way to start introducing numbers to young children. It also get's them ready to learn the days of the week and months. While teaching counting it uses money and blocks as well. greast early stage development book.

This is a cute book in which the readers are being engaged with the characters. The characters need your help to count various items in the house such as money, food, etc. It also teaches about graphing as well. Grades 2-4

I really liked how interactive this book was. On each page the child reading would have the opportunity to do some sort of math. I thought it was easy to follow along and was age appropriate. I would love to have this book to read to children who are starting to learn math!

Adult-friendly, yes. Kid-friendly...not so much. Teachers should be able to work with the content and do some interesting things though.
