Tone grew up in Oslo, the capital of Norway, and now lives and works on a small island in the Oslo fjord. Her education is in classic painting and graphic design. Tilda has been a lifestyle for Tone, and has developed over the years to be a well-known and much-loved brand among crafters.
I love to flip through Finnanger's books and enjoy the beautiful fabrics & charming patterns. This is not one of my top favourites - none of the patterns really motivate me to make them - but I still enjoyed browsing. If you haven't looked at any of her books, I suggest starting with Sewing by Heart or Quilts from Tilda's Studio
What adorable patterns in this book! I love all the stuffies and the pillows, and I will be trying one of the more simple ones out, soon. The fabrics suggested are very pretty also. I’m not a quilter, nor do I excel at sewing; but I have always loved it, and keep wanting to better myself, so eventually I can try a quilt. One day…!
I'm not really equipped to judge how good the instructions are in Sunshine Sewing and for fairness' sake, I'm not going to rate it. I have never quilted and find patterns hard to follow (perhaps due to dyspraxia). The projects are very pretty though and I might brave having a try and making the cat - what drew me to the book in the first place. Cats are basically my reason for existing!
