Edison Churches: Experiments in Innovation and Breakthrough

Rate this book
Innovation often brings failure―and that's okay. Using failure to learn, improve, and continue innovating will help keep the church alive in the twenty-first century. That's the message of Edison Churches, which shares the stories of ten faith communities that embraced innovation, learned from their experiences, and forever impacted both their congregations and their communities in the process. God is inviting us to participate in doing a new thing; Edison churches are leading the way.

Failure Is An Option

What an incredible study of churches around the world that have taken chances and because of their willingness to fail, God has used them and their innovation. This is not a how-to-book about how to grow an innovative church, this is a book to inspire you to find what God would have you risk, what God may be leading you into. Great authors who don't take credit for their own writing in this book have given us a glimpse at what radical discipleship looks like. Dr. Middendorf's seasoned assessment at the end of the book is worth the price of admission. Now go out fail upward.

Great book to inspire ideas in the local context. Not only is the concept of letting go of failure for ministries essential, but the reuniting of evangelism and service gives proper light to what churches should be doing for their community.
