I'm surprised that this book isn't more widely regarded - it is excellent. The authors were way ahead of the curve writing about corporate political action committees back in 1992. The idea is simple: talk to the people running PACs about money in politics. The understanding they share about power relations between business and government are more relevant than ever.

Sure, things have gotten worse since Citizens United, but the authors were already discussing all of the important details 25 years ago. I found the brief discussion of business hegemony in American politics particularly revelatory. I'd highly recommend this volume to anyone who wants to learn more about how money influences government. This book is a hidden gem.
