I enjoyed reading this book w/ a fellow Shepherd's wife!
This book was practical and punchy in all the ways I needed. It served as a blessing to our friendship in discussing our ministry experiences while "spurring each other on to love and good works". It caused me to think deeply about private & public aspects of ministry that I, too, am called to alongside my husband, and if I am serving self or the Lord in those regards. This book also served as a blessing as it reminded me of the sacrifices and joys that come in being a helpmeet, specifically to a pastor. It has further helped me appreciate sharing in the blessing of ministry through the fruits of labor, knowing they are not in vain. What grace!

Usually, grammatical errors irk me, but the content well outweighed those petty instances. I am thankful for Mary Somerville and her obedience to Lord in writing this sweet treasure.

Consider reading this if you, too, are a shepherd's wife! You will be blessed.

1. This book is for those in any level of ministry, whether just starting out or years in.
2. Her title is slightly misleading in my opinion. The beginning and the end are well suited, but the middle seemed to be more of a how-to ministry book.
3. Her chapter on counseling was so simple and excellent! It seems that only the ones with Masters Degrees or years of experience are qualified to do counseling. But I think we forget that God had given us everything in His word that pertains to life and Godliness.
