The Phantom. Is he a ghost or a madman? What’s his story? The story never says. All we know is he is lonely and long for a company just like Frankenstein’s monster. Why do all classics have the same theme? Quasimodo and Ariel too. Let’s go back to the original to find out more.
Thought this was the original “classic” book…imagine my surprise when I open it and it is a children’s version. Ha! Cute way to introduce classics to young readers.
This book was really good. I kept thinking about the phantom. Things like who was he? Where did he come from? Why did he start haunting the opera? I just really wanted to know these things and it just caught my attention. Also, the illustrations are great. I read this book about 10 times maybe more. Every time I went to the library if I saw the book I would check it out. I would enjoy it thoroughly too. I just wish it could have been longer by like 200 pages. I then would have been very satisfied.
