This is one crazy-ass book, without a doubt. This book was published December 1980. I must say this is a unique book. Wouldn’t call it romance, for sure. It’s got a heroine that is raped by men at different times but is also raped by a woman, has female masturbation twice, whippings, a severe beating, some erotic moments, suicide, you name it! So hold on to your hats folks, it’s a dark, warped ride.

This book starts in Massachusetts, April 18, 1841 with Jemma’s birth. You'll be taken on one wild ride. This book is a must-read for fans of bodice rippers!

Bodice ripped good even w/ the spy theme being low level mediocre and spending most of the book w/ the other guy/husband/brute. the hero I stopped anticipating - especially when he um., came.
